RUTH R. CONE ESTES FORREST

Ruth R. Forrest, 91, longtime resident of Clinton and Osceola, and
recently of Olympia, Washington, died March 18, 2001. Ruth was born on
July 26, 1909, to Alvin and Myrtle Cone, in Chalk Level. In her
younger years, Ruth worked as a garment worker and restaurant worker,
as well as being a homemaker and retired from Unitog in Clinton. Ruth
was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Elias Estes, who she
married on December 10, 1927. They were divorced. Ruth was married to
Clyde Forrest on October 22, 1980, who also preceded her in death.
Ruth was also preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Roy and
Lee Cone, and one sister, Laura (Cone) Nevius, and her parents. Ruth
is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lou (Estes) Landes and
son-in-law, Benny J. Landes, of Olympia, Washington; one sister,
Esther Fern (Cone) Kelly, Osceola; two grandchildren, Terry Gene
Landes and Karla Ruth (Landes) Cuzdey, both of Olympia, Washington;
eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and many
nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth was raised in the Chalk Level area
and lived most of her days in Osceola and Clinton before moving to
Olympia six years ago. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and
will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Funeral
services were Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Funeral Home in Osceola. Internment was in Kidd's Chapel.
