Robert Edward Inskeep, born of Richard and Margaret Inskeep, in Champagne County IL, Feb. 19, 1873, died Nov 2, 1948, at the Wetzel Hospital at Clinton, at the age of 75 years, eight months and 14 days.
He was the youngest of his family and the last to die. his illness was of short duration and he had often expressed the wish that it would be so.
He moved with his parents form Illinois to Iowa at the age of three where he lived until he was 13. then they moved again by covered wagon to Ohio, Mo, where he spent the rest of his life.
Oct 12, 1898, he was married to Sarah Catherine Howard, who preceded him in death Oct. 24, 1943. to this union ten children were born. Two sons, Floyd and Delmar, and one daughter Illa, died in infancy.
He was converted in early manhood and later with his family, joined the United Brethren Church at Kidd's Chapel.
Reading was his hobby, but his chief delight was in visiting with old friends and neighbors and his good charms and wit will long be remembered.
He leaves to mourn his death, his children, Howard E. Inskeep, Appleton City, MO; Mrs. Edith Creed, Klamath Falls, Ore; Mrs. Hollie Chiles, Osceola, MO; Esther Jones, Adrian; William B. Inskeep and Richard L. Inskeep of the home; Mrs. Nina Ginter, Lowry City . He also leaves 11 grandchild, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services under the directions of the Goodrich Funeral Home were held in the Kidd's Chapel Church, Sunday, afternoon with Rev. F. Wilson officiating. Burial was in the nearby cemetery.
