Paul L. Cook Jr., 76, of Columbia passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006,
at his home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Memorial Funeral
Home with the Rev. Jim Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in
Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home.
Paul was born on Oct. 2, 1929, in St. Louis to Paul L. and Ethel E.
Cook, and they preceded him in death. Paul married Hazel Burdick on
Feb. 11, 1950, and she survives.
Paul graduated from New Franklin High School. He managed the Kroger
Store from 1966 to 1972 and owned the IGA Store in Warrenton for
several years before working for and retiring from AmerenUE.
Paul was a member of the Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia.
He enjoyed working on his Montgomery County farm. His hobbies included
golf and especially billiards.
Paul is survived by his wife, Hazel; two sons; a daughter; two
sisters, Alice Freese and Maggie Snell; and many family and friends
from southern California to northern New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Cook; one brother, James
Cook; two sisters, Pauline Kelleher and Virginia Cook; and one
grandchild.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Missouri United Methodist
