MYRTLE MARIE COLSON Myrtle Marie (Smith) Colson, daughter of Wilkes Franklin and Betty (Green) Smith, was born March 17, 1900 in St. Clair County, Missouri near Roscoe. She departed this life August 5, 2000 at Windsor Estates Nursing Home in Camdenton, Missouri at l00 years of age. Myrtle and Richard Colson were united in marriage September 1, 1935 in Rockville and she spent most of her life on the family farm near Rockville. To this union, one daughter was born. In 1962, she moved to Appleton Ciity, Missouri. She remained in Appleton City until 1993 when she moved to Camdenton, Mo. Mrs. Colson was a member of the First Christian Church in Appleton city, the Alpha Delta Kappa the teacher's soroity. She retired after teaching school for 35 years. Myrtle enjoyed working in her yard raising flowers and a big garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1949, a son-in-law, Bob Allinson, her brother, Roy Smith and three sisters, Lillian Dawson, Mollie Dawson and Birdie Garver. She is survived by her daughter, Louise (Colson) (Allinson) and husband, Harold Bailey of Jasper, Mo., two grandsons, Darren Allinson and wife, Alice of Kirksville, Mo., and Curtis Allinson of Ashland, Mo. and five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kyle, Kristen, Trevor and Paige Allinson.
