MINNIE E. BRIDGES GLAZEBROOK
Funeral services were held Monday, May 3 at 11 a.m. in Goodrich Chapel
for Minnie E. Bridges Glazebrook. Music was provided by Jerris Harper,
soloist and Mary Lou Hildebrand, accompanist. Casketbearers were
grandsons. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of
Goodrich Funeral Home of Osceola.
Minnie Eunice Bridges Glazebrook was born May 20, 1880 near Vista, to
Enoch Webster & Clara Sophia Ewing Graham. She passed away April 30,
1982 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton at the age of
101 years, 11 mo's and 10 days.
Minnie's early life was spent in the Vista area. She was united in
marriage to Ben Bridges and to this union four children were born. Her
sons Graham Bridges and Frank Wiley Bridges preceded her in death, as
did her husband on Dec. 21, 1918.
In 1928 she was married to J. William Glazebrook who preceded her in
death in 1934.
Minnie was a good provider for her children during their early years.
She worked as a cook at the Commercial Hotel in Osceola for several
years and later worked in Urich and Kansas City.
She lived in the Wheatland, area for several years and was a member of
the Wheatland Baptist Church. She left Wheatland in 1967 and moved to
the Kansas City area where she lived until she moved to Clinton in
1977. She was making her home there with her daughter, June Patterson,
at the time of her death.
She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. June Patterson of Clinton and
Mrs. Essie Hammond of Kansas City: one brother Homer Graham of Vista:
one sister Hazel Mueller of Las Vegas, Nevada: 6 grandchildren: 14
great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
