MAUDE ELIZABETH HOOPER
Maude Hooper - Funeral services for Maude E. Hooper were Thursday,
December 18 at 2 p.m. in the Bear Creek Methodist Church. Elder Wilmer
Harper officiated. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hooper.
Casketbearers were Brandon Brown, James Brown, Wilbur Brown, Gary
Murray, Jim Murray, Kent Murray and Byron Souther.
Interment was in the Bear Creek Cemetery under the direction of hte
Goodrich Funeral Home.
Maude Hooper passed away at the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola, Mo. on
December 16, 1980 at the age of 85 years, four months and four days.
She was born August 12, 1895 near Corbin, Missouri, the daughter of
James Richard and Nellie Florence Garrison.
She was married to Robert Hooper October 5, 1914. To this union was
born three sons. One died as an infant, two survive their mother,
Robert Leo Hooper and James LeRoy Hooper both of Sugar Creek,
Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Viola and Mabel; three grandchildren,
J.R. Hooper of Odessa, Mo., Cheryl Mariono of Independence, Mo., and
Roger Hooper of Sugar Creek, Mo., and five great-grandchildren, four
sisters, Mrs. Anna Brown of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Blanche Murray of
Independence, Mo., Mrs. Doris Murray and Mrs. Eleanor Murray both of
Osceola, Missouri and eleven nieces and nephews.
Maude was a member of the Bear Creek Methodist Church and spent most
of her life in the Bear Creek Community. Her husband, one son, her
parents, and one sister preceded her in death.
Maude loved the outdoors and all of her relatives, neighbors, and
friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
