MAUD EVELYN NAYLOR

Maud Evelyn Naylor was born October 4, 1899, near Deepwater, the youngest of 10 children born to John and Melissa Birnel Becks. She died February 6, 1995, at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City where she had made her home the past five years.
She spent her early years in the Deepwater/Montrose area. She graduated from Montrose High School and
attended college in Warrensburg where she became certified to teach elementary education. She spent
several years teaching in various country schools. In February of 1946 she was united in marriage to James
Rawly Naylor. They spent most of their married life in the Lowry City area. He preceded her in death in April
of 1983. She was a longtime member of the Lowry City Christian Church and active in the Order of the
Eastern Star as long as her heath permitted.
She was preceded in death by all nine of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by two stepsons, John O.
Naylor of Lowry City, and Robert Naylor of Hermann; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen Wilcox of Columbia,
Mrs. Norman Baxter of Buffalo, and Mrs. Roma Thompson of Hawthorne, California, several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Friday, February 10, at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Burial was in Lowry City Cemetery.
