MARGARET MAY PRYOR

Margaret May Pryor was born Dec. 29, 1919 in Jackson County, the daughter of George and Leona Lewis McGinnis. She passed away Saturday, May 27, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City at the age of 86. Margaret was a graduate of Metz High School, class of 1939. She was united in marriage to Owen Pryor on May 5, 1939. To this union six children were born. Margaret and Owen raised their children on a farm in the Metz area. She worked in the Metz school as a cook for several years. She was a member of the Rinehart Christian Church for 60 plus years and taught the nursery class for 41 years. Margaret and her son, Rex, moved to Rich Hill in 2001. She was a very dedicated mother, caring for Rex after the loss of her husband.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Owen; son Rex; one grandson; and one great granddaughter.
Margaret is survived by two sons, Charles Pryor and his wife Marlene of Louisville, Ky.; Richard Pryor of Rockville; three daughters, Mary Sheldon and her husband Virgil of Ft. Scott, Kan., Ruth Wheatley and her husband Terry of Rich Hill, Evelyn Corl and her husband Jim of Rich Hill; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Furnell of Mesa, Ariz, and Mildred Ellifritis of Kansas City; one brother, Robert L. McGinnis of Milo and one sister-in-law, Ruth Raps.
Services were held Wednesday, May 31 at the Heuser Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Prkey officiating.
The music by Bro. Ron Dunlap was, "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace", and "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling".
Casketbearers were Danny Breckenridge, Jim Liles, Phil Hymer, Bob Wingate, Kenneth Liles and Rich Kennedy.
Interment was at the Pryor Creek Cemetery in Metz.
Arrangements were by the Heuser Funeral Home of Rich Hill.

Margaret M. Pryor, age 86, of Rich Hill, MO, formerly of Metz area, passed away May 27, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill with burial in the Pryor Creek Cemetery, Metz, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Pryor Creek Cemetery or the Double Branch Christian Church Building Fund in care of the Heuser F.H. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by two sons, Charles & Marlene Pryor, Louisville, Kentucky, Richard Pryor, Rockville, MO; three daughters, Mary & Virgil Shelden, Ft. Scott, KS, Ruth & Terry Wheatley, Rich Hill, MO, Evelyn & Jim Corl, Rich Hill, MO; 12 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Furnell, Mesa, Arizona, Mildred Ellifrits, Walker, MO; one brother, Robert L.
