Lela Marie Beardslee was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to George Vance and Maud Bowman White. She passed away April 23, 2005, at Truman Medical Center Lakewood in Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Willamae Burton and Wynema Beardslee.

Lela is survived by her husband, James E. Beardslee of the home; sons, Robert E. Beardslee and his wife, Mary Jeanne of Lee’s Summit, Leo C. Beardslee and his wife, Janie of Raytown; brother, Wayne White and his wife, Barbara of Murrietta, Calif.; grandchildren, Michael C. Beardslee of Raytown, Joshua R. Beardslee of Lee’s Summit, Elizabeth A. Beardslee of Lee’s Summit; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 27, at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, Osceola, with Greg Mangum officiating. The music selections were “Amazing Grace: and “Jesus Loves Me” by Donna Carney, soloist and Gail Ingle, accompanist.

Casketbearers were Joshua Beardslee and Michael Beardslee.

Burial was in the Lowry City Cemetery under the direction of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
