Lawrence Lee Kreissler, son of Henry and Lydia (Scholz) Kreissler, was
born August 26, 1921 in rural Appleton City, Missouri. He departed
this life at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri February 4,
2006 at 84 years of age. Lawrence was baptized September 23, 1921 at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City. He joined the church May 5,
1935 with his confirmation verse being 1 Corinthians 6:20 – “You were
bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” Mr. Kreissler
remained a faithful member of his church, attending every Sunday,
until his death. On May 22, 1942 Lawrence and Margaret Linn were
united in marriage and to this union four children were born. During
World War II he served in the Army Air Corp and also in the OSS for a
short time. Lawrence was a highly respected farmer and businessman. He
loved to visit with people and tell stories. Lawrence was preceded in
death by his parents and one brother, Earl. Survivors include his wife
Margaret of the home; one son, Kenny Kreissler and wife Sue of Olathe,
Kansas; three daughters, Judy Landall of Appleton City, Missouri,
Nancy and husband Eugene Nichols of St. Charles, Missouri, Kristine
and husband Ronnie Parks of Appleton City, Missouri; ten
grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Lawrence will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
