JOHN B. TURNER
John
B. Turner Dies Suddenly
The lifeless body of John B. Turner, 74, was found Monday morning
about 8:30 by an employee of the Lampkin Brothers Elevator just east of
the elevator. Sheriff Shirley Collins and the St. Clair County
Coroner, Paul Firestone, were notified and the coroner pronounced the
death due to natural causes.
Members of Mr. Turner's family, the sheriff, city marshal Glen Davis
and many volunteers had searched long hours for Mr. Turner after his
son reported him missing that morning. He had been seen last by
friends late Saturday evening, and his family feared for his safety.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church
and burial was at the Oak Hill Cemetery at Butler.
