John Martin Jackson, 98, Wheatland, died Thursday, January 4, 2001, at Golden Valley Hospital, Clinton. He was born in Iconium on November 16, 1902. He married Junie Belle Schiller on April 28, 1921, of Kansas City, Ks., and they were married for 74 years. He was a standing member of the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years and was a member of Eastern Star. He helped form the senior center in 1977 and worked there for 20 years until 1998, but he continued to go until his death.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Junie; two daughters, Phyllis Belk and Marie Bauer, and one grandson, David Talley of San Diego, California. Survivors include Lloyd and Deanie of Amsterdam, Clyde of Kansas City, Ks., Eddie of Deepwater, Robert of Hardin, Ks., Bernice Talley of Clinton, Dorothy Chaney and Betty of Wheatland; several grandchildren and great-grandchidlren. Funeral services will be Monday at Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home Chapel, Wheatland. Burial will be in Iconium Cemetery.
