Jesse Hooper Services June 28
Funeral services were held at the Osceola Methodist Church Thursday,
June 28, for Jesse C. Hooper, who died June 23 at the age of 78 years,
nine months and four days. He had been a patient at the Osceola
Medical Hospital for 27 months.
Officiating at the services were Rev. C. Fay Kessinger, pastor of the
church, and Wilmer Harper, Penny Dukes and Sue Krider sang two
numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Herbert Dukes.
Pallbearers were the following nephews; Forrest Hooper, Balter;
Laverne Hooper, Indiana; and Nathan, Charles, Russell and Roy Hooper,
all of Kansas City. Burial was made in the Osceola cemetery.
Mr. Hooper, son of the late Frank and Mary Hooper, was born Sept. 19,
1883 in St. Clair County. He attended school at Bear Creek and was a
member of the Bear Creek Methodist Church.
His marriage to Nancy M. Garrison occurred March 23, 1905. Four
children were born to the couple. One died in infancy.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Edna Jacobs of Las Animas,
Colo., and Mrs. Ruth Chapman of Lowry City; one son, Floyd of near
Osceola; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and three
brothers, Sina, Manuel of Butler and Alva of Adrian.
