JAMES EUGENE BEARDSLEE

James Eugene "Gene" Beardslee was born Feb. 4, 1921 in Osceola, to
Clyde and Edna Akers Beardslee. He passed away Oct. 31, 2006 in Lee's
Sumit.
Gene graduated from Lowry City High School in 1939. He was a veteran
of World War II having served in the Army Air Force in the South
Pacific from November 1942 until February 1946. After the war, he
began working for Dealers Transport as an over the road driver hauling
Ford cars which he did for 38 years.
On Jan. 24, 1948 he married Lela Marie White of Lowry City. From this
union, two sons were born, Robert Eugene and Leo Clyde. Lela preceded
Gene in death on April 23, 2005.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, Clyde and Edna; three
brothers, Robert F. and his wife, Genevieve, Clinton, Clarence Eldon
and his wife, Opal, Colorado Springs, Colo. and Leo D. Beardslee,
Osceola; two sisters, Maxine Kinyon and her husband, Thoms, Clinton
and Marget Curley Drake and her husband, Donald, Osceola.
Gene is survived by his sister, Jane Mumford and her husband, Larry,
Irving, Texas; his brother, Earl Beardslee and his wife, Joyce,
Osceola; two sons, Robert Beardslee and his wife, Mary Jeanne, Lee's
Summit, Leo Beardslee and his wife, Janie, Raytown; three
grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joshua Beardslee, Lee's Summit and
Michael Beardslee, Raytown; many nieces, nephews, other family and
friends.
Services for him were Friday, Nov. 3, in the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel
with C. Randy Sheldon officiating.
Musical selections were "Amazing Grace", and "America The Beautiful"
with Charles Dean, soloist and Gail Ingle, accompanist.
Casketbearers were Joshua beardslee, Mike Beardslee, Raymond Burton,
Michael Bearedslee, Bill Kinyon, Elizabeth Beardslee and Rick Hobbs.
Military honors were given by Clinton VFW Post 1894.
Interment was in the Lowry City Cemetery under the direction of
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.

James Eugene Beardslee, of Kansas City, passed away on Oct. 31, 2006
at the Villages in Kansas City.
Funeral services were Nov. 3, at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, Osceola.
Burial was in the Lowry City Cemetery under direction of the
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.
