JACK A. WOOD

Jack Wood, Osceola, was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Iconium to the late
Joe and Audra Wood. He passed away at this home on March 24, 2005, at
the age of 79.
On May 18, 1946, he was united in marriage to Maxine Foster. To this
union, three children were born: Ronald Ray, Jacqueline Elaine, and
Robert LeRoy.
Jack was very active in business for 17 1/2 years in Versailles where
he owned and operated Frigid Food Service and Wood Oil Company. In
1969 he moved back to the farm of his birthplace, east of Osceola
where he truly enjoyed his cattle farming.
Jack was a member of Hopewell Baptist church where he served as a
deacon and taught a men's Sunday school class.
Jack served on the Sac-Osage Electric Coop Board of Directors for
several years. He was a member of the Iconium Fire Department and
Treasurer of the Iconium Cemetery.
Jack is survived by his wife, Maxine, of 58 years; his son, Ron and
his wife, Karen of Harrisonville; his daughter Jacquie Brewer and her
husband, Wayne of Versailles; and his son, LeRoy and his wife, Via of
Osceola. He also leaves a sister, Jean Sheldon and her husband,
Charley of Osceola; and a sister, Elaine Mitchell of Neosho. He also
leaves nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There are also
many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel, Osceola, with Rev. Ken Bolton and Rev. Gineth Hudson
officiating. Music selection was by Derek Wood, vocalist, Barbara
Garlick, accompanist, and Dorothy Turner, vocalist.
Casketbearers were Tony Stephens, Bo Holland, Derek Wood, Brent
Stephens, D. J. Wells, Brad Holland, Greg Wood, Craig Noland Wood,
Zaven Stephens and Zack Wells. Honorary casketbearers were the
Hopewell Men's Sunday school class.
Burial was in the Iconium Cemetery under the direction of the
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.

home. Jack is survived by his wife, Maxine, of 58 years; his son, Ron,
and wife, Karen, of Harrisonville, MO; his daughter, Jacquie Brewer,
and husband, Wayne, of Versailles, MO, and his son, LeRoy, and wife,
Via, of Osceola, MO. He also leaves a sister, Jean Sheldon, and
husband, Charles, of Osceola; and a sister, Elaine Mitchell, of
Neosho, MO. He also leaves nine grandchildren, and six

services will be Monday, March 28, at 2 p.m., at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel in Osceola, 417-6468135. Burial will be in the Iconium
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the
Hopewell Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maxine; his son Ron and wife

Versailles, and his son LeRoy and wife Via, Osceola; two sisters, Jean
Sheldon and husband Charley, Osceola, and Elaine Mitchell of Neosho;
nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews

Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Burial was in Iconium Cemetery.
