IRVIN LEON BAKER

Funeral services for Irvin Leon Baker will be Wednesday, November 15 at the Sharon Baptist
Church in Lowry City. Burial will be in the Wright's Creek Cemetery, Lowry City, under direction
of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola. Mr. Baker died Sunday, November 12, 1995,
at his home. Irvin Leon Baker, son of Joseph Dawsie and Nellie Dewey Baker, was born August 13, 1918, at Vallhalla, east of Lowry City. He spent his entire life in the Lowry City area. He was saved in 1953
and was ordained to the ministry and faithfully served as pastor of the Sharon Baptist Church in Lowry
City for 34 years. Mr. Baker was a very successful farmer, being very active until his death.
He was united in marriage to Ada Mae Wright on December 21, 1938, and to this union six children
were born. He was preceded in death by Ada Mae on July 24, 1990, and two children who died in infancy. Mr. Baker was married to Mary Jane Good Young on September 3, 1991, who survives him of the
home. He is also survived by his two daughters, Sandra Kay Braithwait and husband Charles, of Lowry
 City, and Beverly Ann Dull and husband Leon of Lowry City; two sons, Lonnie Baker and wife Marilyn
of Overland Park, Kansas, and J. D. Baker and wife Candi of Osceola; a stepdaughter Dena Vest
of El Dorado Springs; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
