Mr. Garrison was born in Corbin on Oct. 8, 1910, and spent most of his life in the Osceola area. At the age of 8, his family made a trip to Oregon. Homer farmed the 80 acres and drove a milk truck until 1951 when he went to Kansas City and became a carpenter, working on several large projects in and around Kansas City. In 1956 he changed his profession and became an iron worker. He worked on most of the Corps of Engineer dams in the Ozark area of Missouri, retiring while working on the Truman dam. They lived in Kansas City for 45 years until 1986 when they moved to Osceola. In 1994, Bessie’s health was failing so they moved to Raymore to live with their daughter, Janice. Bessie died in March of 2005.
