HILAH NORRIS
Lowry City, Missouri
19 March 1942
Hilah Norris, daughter of John and Martha Norris was born July 13,
1855
near Orange, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Mr. Abe Lutes on
Christmas
day, 1889. She was united with the Christian church in 1899 and has
remained a true and faithful worker during her 42 years of membership,
always keeping in mind the duties she owed to God, her family and
friends.
For this the Lord bestowed upon her and her kind and loving husband
the
honor and pleasure of celebrating their Golden wedding anniversary
Dec. 25,
1939. She lived in this community 63 years. She was called to her
Heavenly
home March 2, after a lingering illness. She leaves to mourn her
departure
her husband, Abe; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Ann Allen and Mrs. Lena
Elizabeth Price; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth, Martha and Thomas.
Barbara Ann, Olive, Urie, Samuel and Johnnie preceded her in death.
Hilah
Beverly Allen is the only grandchild.
Funeral services are held on March 4, 1942 at 2 p.m. in Riverview
school
house with interment in the Norris family cemetery with Bro. Blalock
of the
Christian church of Eldorado Springs conducting the funeral with E.H.
Primm
as funeral director of Humansville in charge.
The large funeral procession and beautiful flowers testified to the
love
and esteem of her by her many friends.
