Henry Lutes Buried at Roscoe
Funeral services were held in the Goodrich Chapel Thursday afternoon, January 12, 1961, for Henry William Lutes of Raymondville, who died January 9 in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield from injuries suffered in a motor scooter accident near his home January 7. He had been transferred from Texas County Memorial hospital in Houston only a few hours before his death.
Rev. Cecil Haines, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of the Goodrich Funeral Home.
Mr. Lutes, son of Dolphus and Betty Lutes, was born October 11, 1887, near Roscoe.
Immediate survivors include his invalid wife, Ada, of the home at Raymondsville, a son, Willis, of Highland, Kans., a daughter, Mrs. A.L. Francis of Osceola, three grandchildren, Wilma Jean, Leroy and Richard Lutes and two sisters, Maude Schriner of Roscoe and Mary Bruce of Moundville, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
