HANNA HILTY

Funeral services for Mrs. Hanna Hilty, 81, who died Sept. 27, were
conducted Sept. 29 at Valley Center Evangelical and Reformed Church.
Pall bearers were grandsons, Paul Ross, Philip Ross, Stanfred Hilty,
David Hilty, Steven Hilty and Samuel Hilty. Hanna Neuenschwander was
born in the Valley Center community, St. Clair County, Oct. 8, 1879,
the 4th child of Dr. John I. and Kathryn Neuenschwander. On June 9,
1903, she married Fredrick L. Hilty. This union was blessed with seven
children: Palmer, Pullman, Wash.; Wesley, Clinton; Roy, Deepwater;
Ruby Shy, Lowry City; Lottie Ross, Urich; Joseph, Mandras, Ore.; and
Benjamin, Lowry City. Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 10,
1937. For the most part her entire life was lived in the Valley Center
community until she moved to Lowry City in May of 1956. She was reared
in a Christian home, a wonderful heritage. Her Christian influence and
endless and untiring devotion was felt in the home, church and
community. She was baptized in infancy and as a young girl was
confirmed and joined the Hebron Reformed Church of Valley Center in
which church she was a life long member. To serve the church was an
integral part of her life. She was active as a Sunday School teacher
in the church and was an active member of the Ladies Aid. Besides her
children before named she leaves 12 grandchildren; two brothers,
Arthur Neuenschwander, Deepwater, the Rev. John Neuenschwander, Stotts
City; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Klass, California, Mo.; Mrs. Emma
Scheer, Meeker, Okla.; Mrs. Emil (Hedwig) Matter, Diamond Point,
Okla.; many other relatives and friends.
