Hallie Arlene Hilty, daughter of Tom and Lean (Woods) Ross, was born November 23, 1911, in St. Clair County, and died February 3, 2000, at the Westwood Nursing Center, Clinton, at the age of 88 years. Hallie was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a bookkeeper for Hilty Quarries before she retired. She was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church, Clinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes Hilty; her parents; two daughters, Donna and Myrna; one infant son, Ross Hilty; as well as two brothers, Orville Ross and T. J. Ross. Hallie is survived by one son, Stan L. Hilty of Clinton; one brother, Charles Ross of Clinton; three sisters, Elizabeth Moore of Birmingham, Alabama, Dorothy Jean Ayleworth of Platte City, and Lena Jeffries of Colorado Springs, Colorado and four grandsons, Shawn Hilty, John Hilty and Joe Hann Hilty, all of Clinton, and Wesley Clay of Lancaster, California. Funeral services were held at the
Vansant-Mills Chapel on Sunday, February 6. Burial was in the Valley Center Cemetery, Deepwater.
