Grace Crawford Scott Kelly was born October 10, 1901, in Henry County,
MO, the daughter of Elder Larenzo Dow Crawford and Ella Setzer
Crawford. On October 11, 1919, she married John Edward Scott. To this
union were born seven children. Grace was preceded in death by two
daughters who died in infancy; a son, Crawford Edward Scott, who was
killed in action at Pearl Harbor; a son, William Donald Scott; a
daughter, Lois Jean Scott. She was also preceded in death by her first
husband, John Edward Scott. Grace married Arthur Kelly, who also
preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, John Raymond Scott
of Deepwater, MO, and Eddy Lee Scott of Oak Grove, MO, many
grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a
great-great-great grandson. Grace was saved and baptized at the Benton
Blvd. Baptist Church at an early age. She was the oldest Gold Star
Mother from WWII at the time of her death. Grace passed away November
18, 2004, after a short illness at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital
in Clinton, MO. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 22, at First
Baptist Church, Lowry City, MO; burial in Lowry City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church.
