ARTHELIA LUTITIA PRITCHARD

Arthelia Lutitia Pritchard, 95, Grandview, died Oct. 7, 2006, at the
Edgewood Home in Raytown. Arthelia was born Oct. 15, 1910 in Lowry
City and lived in the Kansas City area for over 65 years.
She was a graduate of Cottey college in Nevada, Mo. and of the
University of Missouri in Columbia. Arthelia began her career as a
high school English teacher in Lowry City and after raising her family
returned to teaching in the fifth and sixth grades at Cambridge
Elementary School in Belton until retirement.
She was named Grandview Citizen of the Year in 1993; was a charter
member and an elder in the St. Matthew Presbyterian Church. She was a
member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood; the Order of the Eastern Star; the
Little Blue River and Fort Osage Chapters of the D.A.R.; the American
Association of University Women; the Quester's Club; the Grandview
Historical Society; the Jackson County Historical Society and the
State of Missouri Historical Society, serving as guide at the Truman
Farm Home.
Arthelia was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence
Keith Pritchard; her parents, Charles and Mary Lutitia Lysinger; two
sisters and one son.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol McCoy, Raytown and Ruie
Pritchard, Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Charles Pritchard, Houston, Texas
and Robert Pritchard, Springfield; five grandchildren; and nine great
grandchildren.
Services for Arthelia were are being held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday,
Oct. 13 at St. Matthew Presbyterian Church, Grandview.
Interment will be in the Lowry City Cemetery, Lowry City, under the
direction of Charter Funerals.

Arthelia Lutitia Pritchard, 95, of Grandview, died October 7, 2006, at
the Edgewood Home in Raytown, Mo. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
on Friday, October 13, at St. Matthew Presbyterian Church, 2217 High
Grove Road, Grandview, Mo. Friends may call on Thursday, October 12,
at the church, from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Lowry City, Mo.
