Amos M. Neuenschwander, 87, Appleton City, formerly of Deepwater, died Friday, March 22, 2002, at Ellett Memorial Hospital, Appleton City.
He was born March 15, 1915, in the Valley Center area near Deepwater. He was a 1933 graduate of Lowry City High School. He operated a lumberyard in Lowry City, served as the county ASCS office manager and 12 years as the public administrator in St. Clair County. He was a lifelong member of the Valley Center United Church of Christ and a 50-year member of Lowry City Lodge #403 AF & AM.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby, of the home; one son, Robert F. Neuenschwander of Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. Dee Ann Greenwell and husband, Larry, Lee's Summit, Mrs. Cindy McDaniel and husband, Ted, Appleton City, and Sara Reynolds and husband, Jerry, Lee's Summit; five grandchildren, one step-grandchild, three great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral and Masonic services were Monday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at the Valley Center United Church of Christ, Deepwater. Burial was in the Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
