ALLEN "Bill" MILTON GALLOWAY

Allen Milton Galloway, son of Harrison Edwin and Pearl Octavia
(Howard) Galloway, was born in Rockville, Missouri September 19, 1919
and departed this life February 2, 2002 at his home in Lee’s Summit,
Missouri at 82 years of age. “Bill” as he was know to his family and
friends, lived in Rockville; Sweet Spring, Missouri; Emporia, Kansas;
and Lee’s Summit, Missouri where he spent most of his life. Bill was
united in marriage to Clara Roberts September 21, 1941 in Rich Hill,
Missouri, and to this union seven children were born. Bill farmed for
a number of years before he bought and operated a truck line. After
the sale of the truck line he worked as a marine boat dealer. Bill
returned to farming later in his life. Bill was a member of the
Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lee’s
Summit. He held the priesthood office of teacher. While in Sweet
Springs he spent a great deal of time in community and church
activities. Later in Lee’s Summit, Bill was involved with Scouting and
was an honorary warrior in the tribe of Mic-O-Say. He committed much
of his time to youth groups in the church and served in many
capacities at church camps. Preceding Bill in death were his parents;
two brothers, Harrison E. Galloway, Jr. and Cloyd Leroy Galloway; one
sister Betty Jean Galloway; and two grandsons, Alan Leroy Chamley and
Jason Langston West. Survivors include his wife Clara of the home; his
children, Carolyn Sue Chamley of Sedalia, Missouri, Sylvia June West
of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Allyn and husband Tom Barnes of Butler,
Missouri, Julia Marlene and husband Bruce Bredin of Lee’s Summit,
Missouri, Chester Allen Galloway and wife Vicki of Lee’s Summit,
Missouri, Annetta Kay and husband Roger Toomey of Creighton, Missouri,
and Dean Milton Galloway of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother Howard
Galloway of Harrisonville, Missouri; two sisters, Sadie Zuber of
Lincoln, Missouri and Lelia Swisher of Independence, Missouri; 21
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
