EUGENE M. COCKRELL
Eugene M. Cockrell
Gene was born Dec. 27, 1924 to Alfred and Veta Cockrell at their farm
in the Ohio Community Southeast of Appleton City, Mo. He departed
this life March 5, 1996 at his home in Austin, Texas.
Funeral services were held in Bolivar, Mo. March 9, 1996. He was laid
to rest in a pretty little cemetery, Payne, southeast of Bolivar.
Gene is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home, three sons, one
daughter, two stepchildren, Larry and wife of Chicago, Steve and wife
of Alaska, Brad and wife of Texas, Sandra Haynes and husband of Raymore,
Mo., Roger and wife and Barbara of Georgetown, Texas.
Two sisters; Winnifred and husband Earl Thomas of Appleton City, Mo.,
Joan and husband Harvey Cross of Tyler, Texas; one brother Bill Cockrell
and wife of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren and three step grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jack and one
sister, Wanda.
Gene served his country during World War II. He loved the outdoors,
all sports. Gene's special love of dogs and horses will long be remembered
by his family.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends which was many as
he never forgot a face or name.
