Osage Township:
About two inches of rain fell in this locality last Sunday night and Monday.

Constable Short and J.M. Fitch attended to business in Rockville last Saturday.

W.B. Stout of Appleton was circulating in this neighborhood a day or two last week.

Stock buyers are still plentiful in this portion of the county and they are paying good prices for all kinds of stock.

Wm. Middaugh and family left on Saturday of last week for Johnson County where they expect to reside in future.

S.E. Gilbert and A. Estes of Cedar County and John H. Parks and son, Wilson, of Henry County attended the funeral of Mrs. King on last Wednesday.

Mrs. Wm. Allinson, who has been reported in this correspondence as suffering from dropsy for a year or more, died a few days ago and was buried at Mt. Zion. Rev. W.M. Creamer conducted the funeral discourse. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mr. Allinson in this his sad bereavement.

Mrs. Lasetta King, wife of Wm. King of this township, died Monday night of last week of consumption. The remains were buried the following day at the Park graveyard. Rev. Geo. Wyatt preached the funeral sermon at the school house. Deceased was one of the old landmarks of the county and was highly respected by all her acquaintances. She leaves an aged husband and four grown children.

Bowling Green:
Miss Nora Burnett is suffering from arysipelas in her foot.

Wm. Helmick was visiting his parents near Monegaw the first of the week.

Miss Eva Surber was detained from school this week on account of illness.

Mr. and Mrs. Hayden, Mr. and Mrs. Danials and Mrs. Leslie were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fraley Sunday.

Mr. Linley has his grist mill in running order and will grind every Saturday.

Miss Bessie Fraley, who is attending school at Balm, visited at home Sunday.

Messrs. George Lewis and Jay Hayden visited our school Friday.

Messrs. Helmick and Dark have moved in their new house.

Rev. Ruckman will preach at Pleasant Day Christian church second Sunday in November.
