Miss Minnie Roeder helped Mrs. J.W. Thurman cook for threshers one day last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Booth have as their guests Mrs. Booth’s nephew from Topeka, Kansas.

Guests in the Frank Lane home during the past week were: Henry Carter of Deepwater, Mrs. Katie Snyder and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Smith of Lowry City, Mr. and Mrs. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. G. Fairman of Osceola, Miss Mary Ellen Cassidy of Edorado Springs, Miss Elsie Lane of Osceola, and Mrs. Hugh Brown and daughter of San Angelo, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Beach and son spent one day last week in the Grover Roeder home.

Elsie Mauck called at the G.C. Roeder home Sunday.

Several from here attended the Amateur Hour at Osceola Saturday night. Everyone enjoyed it very much.

Will Thompson and Frank Lane went to Osceola Monday to attend school directors meeting.

Mrs. Augusta H. Graham returned to Osceola Thursday evening from Farmington, where she had spent her vacation in the home of her brother, Frank L. Hostetter, and Mrs. Hostetter.

Prairie Home
Mr. and Mrs. Amp Hopkins and family and James Barnett visited in the Clarence Wilkins’ home Sunday. James William stayed for a longer visit with his cousins.

Mrs. Boyd Pace visited Mrs. Burr Shoemaker Friday afternoon.

Mrs. James Bowden entertained several relatives from Oklahoma last week.

Mrs. Boyd Pace spent Tuesday with Mrs. James Bowden.

Amp Hopkins and family visited in the Will Moore home Friday evening.

Several people from this vicinity attended the picnic at Shell City Saturday night.

Mrs. Marvine Bourland is spending a few days at the home of her uncle, Bill Tillery, near Roscoe.

Miss Daisy Bourland is visiting her sister, Mrs. Cleo Higgins, near Shell City.

Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Pace were shopping in Appleton City Monday.

Miss Elizabeth Hopkins called on Mrs. James Bowden Tuesday afternoon.

Square Prairie Items
On account of some of the people in this community being at camp meetings, not many attended Sunday school and church. We hope to see more at Sunday school and church services next Sunday, also prayer meeting Wednesday night.

Mr. and Mrs. T.O. Carson called in the home of Mrs. Myrtle Corbin Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Bessie Martin is visiting in the home of her mother, Mrs. Jane Harlan. Miss Mildred Corbin accompanied her out there to work a few days.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown of Gerster called in the J.M. Sizemore home Sunday.

T.O. Carson called in the Jim Lovett home a little while Sunday.

Melba Corbin is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wilkerson.

C.C. Martin and Cleo attended camp meeting at Harriman Chapel Thursday night.

Mrs. Sylvester Cook called in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Steinhardt Tuesday.

Homer Steinhardt’s sister, Hattie, is visiting in his home.

The Rev. Homer Steinhardt called a meeting week ago Sunday near Stockton, where he had been a while.

A good crowd was present at Sunday school Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Garver called at the Clarence Garver home Saturday night.

Mrs. Mary Lacquement and family of Sterling, Kansas, is visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Sutton.

Burrel Bledsoe of Osceola spent last week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Wasson, and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Merl Critchfield spent the day Sunday with the former’s mother, Mrs. Effie Critchfield near Red Rock. Harry Rinard of near Osceola accompanied them home for a short visit.

Appleton City Locals
Miss Leota Zimmerman has arrived from Denver, Colorado, for a visit with her mother, Mrs. Nellie Zimmerman.

Mrs. Nettie Masterson, who now teaches at Ocola, Florida, visited this week in the home of her brother, Herbert Wright. Mrs. Masterson will visit other relatives and friends in this vicinity before returning to Florida.

Mrs. Emma Payne had as guests on Wednesday Mrs. Ralph Angle and Mrs. Kate Graham of Montrose and Miss Muriel Sullivan of St. Louis.

Miss Mary Beth Moss has gone to Siloam Springs, Arkansas, for a week’s vacation.

Mrs. John Doerflinger, Misses Ada Laney and Ruby Piepmeier spent Thursday in Kansas City.

Miss Evelyn Crowder was hostess to Junior Civic Club Tuesday evening at her home.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Carroll left Thursday morning for their home at Filer, Idaho. They were accompanied by Miss Edna Louise Lukenbill, who will attend school in that city the coming winter.
