Dr. R.G. Menefee, Veterinary Surgeon who recently finished in a Kansas City College, is now located in Osceola and will be found at Hutton's livery barn.

Mrs. Lewis Conant who has made her home in Kansas City the past year, returned to Osceola last Friday for a short visit wit her sister, Mrs. L. Faurot.

Miss Alme Sires has closed her school near Monegaw and left for Haswell, Colorado this week. Her father, J.A. Sires removed to that place some six months ago and is now located on a good farm.

Bernard Lewis spent Sunday at the home of his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lewis. Bernard has been employed by the Electrical Company of Springfield the past winter and now is doing electrical work for a plant in Stockton.

The condition of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Clyde of Roscoe is alarming to their many friends. They have both been ill for some months. We trust that warmer weather and bright sunshine will soon restore them to their usual good health.

The Embroidery Club met in Collins, Mo., at the home of Mrs. C.W. Thompson. All the members present, Mrs. Charles Mason being a visitor. They were highly entertained, everyone enjoying a pleasant afternoon as they worked. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Bill Mason, served a delicious Luncheon. Mrs. Warren Martin won the prize given away. The next meeting will be with Miss Dot Tharp.

Rev. and Mrs. Simmons take this opportunity to personally thank everyone who contributed to the donation and purse given last Wednesday night. We feel it especially fortunate for us that we have the privilege of serving Grace M.E. Church for this the fifth year, and are especially anxious that the pleasant relations may continue, and better work be done this year. - D.T. Simmons and Wife.

Spring Grove:
The Sunday school at Spring Grove was opened and reorganized Sunday, April 5, by the election of O.K. Crowder as Superintendent; David Crowder, assistant Supt.; Miss Gail Thralls, organist; Miss Stella Schneck, Secy.; Mrs. Joe Ditty, treasurer and librarian. There was a fair attendance and much interest manifested at the opening meeting.

Easter Sunday was also a good day in this Sunday school and all seem to feel that it is the best place to be each Sunday.

The school at Spring Grove began for a two month's summer term, April 13, with Mrs. Howard in charge.

Johnson City:
J.N. Caton shipped a carload of stock to Kansas City Monday.

Henry Allinson delivered hogs in Appleton City Monday.

Miss Gertrude Williamson visited with friends in Johnson City last week.

Miss Ethel Crutchfield closed a very successful term of school at Johnson City Friday.

Miss Louise Stout visited with Miss Elmora Shoop Sunday.

Arthur Hayes and wife visited Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Smith.

Alpha Short of Minden, Mo., visiting with his sister, Mrs. C.G. Carroll.

Cap Long and family were shopping in Appleton City Monday.

Mrs. C.O. Hedrick spent the day Monday with Mrs. Wilfred Blenden.

Raymond Hunter spent Saturday night and Sunday with his uncle, Dave Rhoades.

Mrs. Simon Shoop visited with Mrs. Will Owens Wednesday.

Scott M. Stout made a business trip to Appleton City Tuesday.

Henry Allinson and family visited Sunday evening with C.M. Lillard and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Simon Shoop and daughter, Miss Elnora, were shopping in Appleton City Monday.

A crowd of young people spent Saturday night on the creek egg roasting.

A.E. Thompson and family, S. Ridgway and family, Mrs. W. Thornbury and daughter, departed for Oregon Wednesday where they expect to make their home.

Sunday, April 5th, 1914, being the thirty-first birthday of C.G. Carroll, a surprise was planned by his many friends and relatives and by the tastefulness of his wife it was complete. Sunday morning as usual everybody went to Sunday school, and after Mr. Carroll had left home his relatives proceeded to take possession of the premises and got ready for the feast. Upon his returning home he found a yard full of people and also a host of them following him. W.R. Owens was at the gate to welcome and accompany him to the seat of honor. There business picked up after seventy appetites were satisfied and goodbyes were said everybody wended their way home congratulating themselves on a day well spent.

Osage:
Miss Hazell Magee visited Saturday and Sunday with Miss Francis Wise.

Hubert Neale left Sunday for Windsor, where he will spent the summer.

Cline Randolph, who some time ago fell and ran a stob in his eye, is improving.

G.M. Rhoads and family visited Sunday with Frank Meekins and family.

Mr. and Mrs. J.Y. Neale spent Sunday with Will Neale and family.

Mrs. P.L. Huff has been very sick with La Grippe, but is better at this writing.

Mrs. George Roades called on Miss Francis Wise Thursday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Dickey visited Sunday with D.P. Wise and family.

Gladys Rhoades visited Saturday with Mary Duncan.
