The Women’s Society of Christian Service of the Methodist church met at Lucas Chapel. Hostesses included Mesdames Nettie Buchanan, F.J. Husted, Louis Steeber, S.D. Fulton and Mayes Butcher. Mrs. H.L. Lewis served for Mrs. Butcher. Mrs. E.L. Gilkeson led the lesson study. About 25 were present.

Mrs. Sadie Vannice and Mrs. Faye Pyeatt entertained the Presbyterian Society. Almost a complete membership attended. Mrs. Anna Redmon was hostess and Mrs. Earl Hart leader for the Christian Missionary society. There was a splendid attendance.

Thirteen members and two visitors attended the meeting of the Baptist society at the home of Mrs. R.W. Ginsburg. Mrs. W.W. Lawton led the devotional and Mrs. Ralph Caves led the lesson study.

Vista
Frank Whiting left Saturday for California where he has employment.

Mrs. Clyde Polson spent Tuesday in Springfield.

The Bernard sale last Tuesday was well attended and stock sold well. We are sorry to lose these good neighbors, but wish them success in their new home.

Mrs. Earl Holstein returned to her home in Springfield Thursday after spending several days in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Polson.

The Misses Ruth, Leona and Nerna Jean Price and Miss Herbert Polson spent Saturday afternoon in Clinton.

Mr. and Mrs. Claud Duvall spent the weekend with relatives in Vista.

Dutch Reynolds trucked calves to Springfield for Alfred Thomas on Tuesday.

Mrs. Geo. Reynolds who has been on the sick list is able to be out again.

Winter seems to be with us again after a few warm sunny days. Several have their gardens made and potatoes planted but since we don’t have I’m sure it is entirely too early to make garden or plant potatoes.

Frank Gordon is repairing and remodeling the house on his farm formerly occupied by Dutch Reynolds, preparatory to moving.
