Wright & Penn shipped a car of cattle to Kansas City, Monday.

The Farm Club Shipping Association shipped car of hogs and a mixed load to the Kansas City market on Wednesday.

Mrs. Walter Parker, who underwent an operation at the Trinity Lutheran hospital in Kansas City, a week ago Monday, is reported to be getting along very satisfactorily.

T.P. Weir and wife of Osceola, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Pattison and Louise made a trip to Ha-ha-Tonka, Bagnell, Linn Creek and Mack’s Creek, Sunday. Sam says if you want to see some scenery there is plenty of it down there.

A baptizing was held at Deepwater on last Lord’s day at the regular service of the Christian church when eleven young men and one young woman made the good confession and were baptized by A.J. Ellis.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bunch came down from Kansas City, last week for a visit with home folks and returned home Sunday accompanied by the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Austin and family, who returned Monday evening.

There was a very fine attendance at the closing service of the year, last Sunday. Many from the different churches of Lowry City were present, and especially gratifying was the presence of Rev. McCluney, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, who came all the way from Osceola, to be present. Such evidences of fellowship is very much appreciated.

Glen Daugherty and family of Taberville, spent the weekend at the Stong home.

Rufus Bledsoe and family and Daisy Veach called at the Lawrence home Friday night.

Eva Stong and Edna Ruth Zeller and Boyd Earhart took supper at the Bill Cripe home, Sunday.

Mrs. Poston assisted Mrs. Lawrence with her work one day last week.

Quite a few from around Damascus attended the Gordon sale last Friday.

The Cripe brothers are making a cellar for Mr. Replogle.

Mrs. Thos. Hamilton and two children of Truman, Minnesota, who for the past four weeks have been visiting the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Lawrence, returned home, Saturday.

Frank Lawrence and Mrs. C.S. Lawrence returned home from Lawrence, Kansas, on Tuesday, having been called there by the death of their sister, Mrs. Lizzie Giesey.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davis and son, Keith, spent Sunday with the Gambill family.

Harry Pritchard and family motored over to the Pritchard farm at Tiffin, Sunday.

O.B. Pasley and family of Appleton City, spent Sunday afternoon in the F.W. Weats home. Mr. Pasley is a barber in a first-class shop and says business is pretty good.

Glen Ferguson and wife have moved into Henry Fields’ residence property in the east part of town. Mr. Fields has had the house repainted.
