The Mallerys were in Kansas City for the week. The occasion was Mr. and Mrs. Mannaion's tenth anniversary.

Carolyn Luther was home over the weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Chinn have returned from visiting in Kansas City and Chicago, Ill.

The Turnquists took Mr. Turnquist's sister to Topeka, Kas., for a visit. Their weekend guests were their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Iske of Grandview and their son and Mr. Turnquists's sister.

Esther Mannaioni flew to Florida last Friday for a week's vacation.

Ida Ruth and Sonnie Able spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Mathis.

Mrs. Rhoda Mathis returned home Saturday from Oklahoma.

Mr. and Mrs. Gunselman were in Gladstone and Liberty last week visiting their children and friends. Mrs. Gunselman has been on the sick list. Glad to report she has recovered.

Mr. and Mrs. Westerlin had guests Sunday.

Last weekend Leonard Rowland, wife and two sons from Pueblo, Colo., visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Rowland. This weekend the Rowlands spent Sunday with their daughter and family, Mrs. Burton of Appleton City.

Mr. and Mrs. West were at their cottage over the weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. McClough visited the Bobbitts Sunday.

Lowry City:
Friends and neighbors extend sympathy to Mrs. Julia Lysinger in the death of her sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Harbor visited at the lake for a week.

Mr. and Mrs. Flay Snyder were in Clinton Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Gorden and grandson, Johnnie, spent Saturday night with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ferguson.

Mr. and Mrs. Newton Stark had as their guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Besherse and Mrs. Stella Newcomb.

Mrs. Belle Mason, Mrs. Ann Domann, Mrs. Ola Settle, Mrs. Stella Newcomb and Mrs. Bertha Fritter attended a Stanley party at Warsaw last Tuesday.

Ralph Fritter went to Kansas City last Monday on business.

Mrs. Gertie Wright called in the Fritter home Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Dimple Snyder, Mrs. Zoe Copenhaver, Mrs. Grace Moutrey and Mrs. Helen Frost spent the last Wednesday afternoon in the Fritter home.

Friends and neighbors extend sympathy to the family of Mrs. Lura Browning who passed away at a rest home in Kansas and was buried in Lowry City.

Mrs. Fritter made a trip to Kansas City last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ferguson and Kay and a friend, Charlotte Ager, visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ferguson recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wright and Levi visited recently their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ferguson and Mr. and Mrs. Charley Wright.

Mrs. Helen Morrow presented the Fern Lyons memorial Nov. 9 at the Osceola school auditorium. The amount given was $436.55 to be used for the purchase of books in the area of history and literature. Accepting the memorial was Jack Hooper, president of the Osceola student body.
At the time of Miss Lyons death she was librarian of the Osceola schools. A plaque and a list of the donors will be placed in the library.
Principal James Moore gave a brief resume of Miss Lyons' life. An ensemble directed by Mrs. Paula Carroll sang "'At The Turning Of The Narrow Road"', and Norma Luckey sang "'Somewhere Over The Rainbow"', accompanied by Nikki Dukes.
Closing remarks were made by Superintendent Joe Walsh.

Births:
Mr. and Mrs. George Haste of Osceola are the parents of a son, Eric Wade, born Nov. 5 at Wetzel hospital in Clinton. The baby weighed seven pounds and twelve ounces. The Hastes also have a daughter, Georgia, who is two years old.
Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Foster of Osceola.

Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Smith of Pleasant Hope are the parents of a son, Stephen Joe, born Oct. 25. Maternal grandmother is Mrs. Overcash of Bolivar and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith of Osceola.

T. Sgt. Gene O. Perkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Perkins of Roscoe, arrived home Tuesday of last week from Vietnam, where he had spent a year.
His brother, George of San Mateo, and his wife, Mary, met him at San Francisco.
Sgt. Perkins has five children and the family resides in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He expects to be stationed later at Pensacola, Fla.
