Appleton City, MO 22 June 1933 NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS: Mrs. John Deller ate dinner Sunday with her mother Mrs. Wm. Reeves, it being the latter's birthday. Mrs. Reeves remains about the same. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ditty spent Sunday in the Clem Thralls home and called in the Ike Seward home in the evening. Quite a number from this vicinity attended the Father's Day program and basket dinner at the L. D. S. church at Taberville Sunday. A splendid program was enjoyed by a large crowd. Ralph Sweard and wife spent Saturday in the Ike Seward home. Miss Rosemary Beward spent the past week with her grandmother, Mrs. Alice Rinderly, in Appleton City. SOUTH DEEPWATER: Mr. and Mrs. Archie Evans and family and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Sutherland and family spent Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Everett Phinney and family. Chas. Kretzinger and Miss Ruth Gay spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Gay and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Dunbar. Chas. Frey called Sunday on Harry Frey. Sixteen of the Pleasant Home young people attended the state B.Y.P.U. convention at Kansas City the past week. Mr. Harold M. Sanders was re-elected state president. Mrs. Fred Bock spent Friday night in the parental Simon Shoop home. Emmett Smith and family spent Sunday with the Philip Casey family. A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Flavil Dines Saturday morning. Mother and babe getting along fine. Mr. and Mrs. Cap Long and Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Purviance called in the Simon Shoop home Sunday afternoon. PRAIRIE HOME: Mrs. Brit Dains is not so well. Several from here attended the meeting and basket dinner at Monegaw Sunday. Kay Higgins and wife visited Saturday night with John Higgins and granddaughter, Opal. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Mistler and children visited Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Mistler. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grass and children spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. L. A. Morris. Claude Moore and Milton Grass spent Saturday night with Leo Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Brown Higgins spent Saturday night and Sunday with relatives near Osceola. |
