NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS:
The election seemed to have a bad effect on some of our good Democrats.

P. R. Davis, of Taberville, visited his sister, Mrs. O. K. Crowder, Saturday night and Sunday.

Jim Williamson and family ate Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Jake Baldwin is putting a new roof on his silo this week.

The butchers of Copeland have changed their butchering day from Friday to Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Fenwick and Murry, Mrs. Louis Neale, Naoma and Gartu Kirk spent a few hours Sunday in the Baldwin home.

Mrs. Henry Casperson and Mrs. Lem Sargent spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Rome Casperson.

Miss Eusie Smith, who has been visiting in Kansas City the past few weeks, returned home Tuesday morning.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Gwin spent Sunday afternoon with N. Gwin and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Smith were shopping in Appleton City Monday.

The farmers are all working overtime this fine weather, so they will be prepared for storm.

ROCKY HILL NEWS:
Large crowds attended the meeting at the Apostolic church last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Compton spent Sunday with Mrs. Diehl and son, Fritz.

Opal and Katie Pharis spent Sunday evening with Lucy and Katie Diehl.

The pie supper at Pleasant Ridge Friday night was well attended and an interesting program was given. The proceeds were $25.00. This will be used for the benefit of the school.

Mr. and Mrs. John Sommers attended meeting at the Apostolic church Sunday and Sunday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Lon Varnes are rejoicing over the arrival of a son at their home last Friday night.

Miss Maud Minnick is working for Mrs. Lon Varnes this week.

Tom Isom sawed wood two days last week.

Miss Rusha Rains spent Wednesday night with Miss Pauline Raybourn.

OHIO, ROUTE TWO:
Jesse Shoemaker and family spent the weekend with his father, "'Uncle"' Bob Shoemaker. Walter Shoemaker and family were also Sunday visitors at the same place.

Lee Mathews and wife and Vera Walker and wife were visitors at the John Purviance home Sunday.

Rufus Parks and wife spent Sunday at Charles Turner's.

Miss Amelia Stemmer visited with Miss Wyona Estill the last of the week.

Chester Ditty, of Schell city, visited relatives here last week.

Mrs. Andrew Zink was the guest of her son, Ike, last week.

Bert Dines is building a large barn on his farm, which is occupied by Mr. Van Noster.

Vernie Crowder is suffering greatly from rheumatism lately.

HOOVER AND TABERVILLE:
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll, of Osceola, are visiting in the Dan Waters' home this week.

Miss Dorothy Allison and George Fitch attended preaching at Taberville Sunday night.

Miss Edith Allison visited with her brother from Friday evening until Sunday.

Several from the neighborhood attended the pie supper at Prairie Home Saturday night.

Mrs. Nora Allison and children, Julia and Ruth, attended the basket dinner at the L. D. S. church Sunday.

The L. D. S. are holding a protracted meeting this week at Taberville.

Mrs. Heath and daughter, Beatrice, made a business trip to El Dorado Monday evening.

Mrs. Davidson and Mrs. Masterson gathered nuts Monday evening.

John Boch and family, of El Dorado, were in town Sunday.

The protracted meeting at Bethel closed Sunday night.

Will Cotrell and family spent Sunday evening with Milt Heath and family.

PRAIRIE HOME:
Mr. Carpenter, who has been ill for several days, is still pretty poorly.

Miss Edith Allison spent the weekend with her brother, Addis, and wife.

Bro. Marion Smith and family were Sunday visitors at John Page's.

Mrs. R. L. Moore and children Sundayed with Mrs. Lewis Casey.

Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Lewis and daughter, Virginia Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Art Brown and children, Crawford, Max, Iona, Mary and Newton, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Morris and daughter, Russie, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Puffenbarger and daughter, Ruth, and Lewis Grass were Sunday visitors in the Alfred Grass home.

Misses Maude Helmich and Esther Richeson spent Saturday night and Sunday with Mrs. Curt Thompson.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Motley spent Saturday night and Sunday with Jim Keeton and family.

John Thompson and family were visitors at the Bill Thompson home Sunday.

Born - to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carpenter, November nineteenth, a nine and a half baby boy. Mother and baby are doing nicely.

PLEASANT RIDGE ITEMS:
The pie supper at Pleasant Ridge school house Friday night was well attended.

Miss Jerushia Rains spent Wednesday night with Miss Pauline Raybourn.

Miss Katheryn Pharis, who is teaching in the Rockville school, visited over Sunday with home folks.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Reese and daughter and sons entertained the following last Sunday: Mr. and Mrs. Padgett and daughter, Bertha, Mr. and Mrs. Al Prier and daughters and Miss Ruby Cook.

Wilbur Pharis, Clarence Varnes, Everett Padgett spent Sunday with Logan Rains.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jones, Mrs. Hill and son and little Miss Mable Snodgrass took Sunday dinner at the Geo. Kegorice home.

Mr. and Mrs. Cass Rains and Mr. and Mrs. L. Isom, from Butler, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rains.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cook and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Barnes and daughters took Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Barnes.

Julius and Cornelius Scheiltz went to Johnstown Sunday to spend the day. On their return their horse became frightened and ran away and Julius said to "'Neely"', "'If I had my watch we could tell how fast "'Old Dan"' is going."'
