Brown Hill and "'Dad"' Perkins were in Osceola on business last week.

Russel Duncan and wife visited with Everett Nunn and family last Sunday.

Miss Kate Nunn and Hilda Lyons were Appleton City visitors last Saturday.

Mrs. Fouts who has been quite poorly with rheumatism is some better.

Mrs. Lasater who has been in Pittsburg, Kansas with her son who is quite sick returned home last Thursday.

Mr. Otho Fickes and wife were summoned to this place on account of the serious illness of his father.

Mr. Fred Orking and family were guests at the home of his father Sunday.

Charlie Bass and wife were visiting relatives in Rockville last Sunday.

The members of the Saints Church are preparing for an entertainment and Christmas tree at their church.

Mrs. Masterson visited with her daughter, Mrs. Bessie Disney, Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Douglas, Miss Kate Nunn, Russell and Margarette Duncan from this place report a pleasant time at the wedding anniversary at Dock Rosebrooks last Friday night.

Bow-Knot Club
The weekly meeting of the Bow-Knot Club was held Tuesday evening with Miss Bina Cline. After the routine work of the club was over the hostess served a fine two-course luncheon, which was greatly enjoyed by all.
P.S.-The editor and Martin Geider can attest that this meeting was the most successful ever held as far as refreshments are concerned, each of us receiving a heaping plate of good things to eat.

M.E. Services
Rev. Wade Fowler will preach at the M.E. Church next Sunday morning at the usual hour. In the evening there will be no preaching services but the Epworth League will give a special Missionary program commencing at 7:30 o'clock. The public is cordially invited.
The pastor, Rev. Yeoman, is assisting in a revival meeting at Knob Noster.

Grandma Finch Dead
Grandma Finch, an aged and highly respected citizen of this city, died at her home Monday. The funeral service was held Tuesday morning and interment made in the city cemetery. Obituary next week.

A good many turkeys were marketed at Copeland the last few days.

H.E. Goodenough was working in Appleton City a few days last week.

Mrs. Wichert returned to her home the first of the week after spending several days with her daughter Mrs. Russell Williams.

Worth Allinson is building a new addition to his house.

Miss Ethel Crutchfield spent Saturday and Sunday in Appleton City.

Dr. Divine and family visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Simon Shoop.

Mr. and Mrs. Cap Long and children took dinner with J.B. Ditty and family Sunday.

There will be a shooting match at Johnson City next Monday November 24th.

Marion Hunter of Appleton City spent Saturday night with Dee Kincheloe in Johnson City.

Link Seward cut his foot quite bad while chopping in the timber one day last week.

W.H. Lucas of Cooper County visited with his brother-in-law, Lud Kincheloe in Johnson City the latter part of last week.

Mrs. Jas. Ditty and little daughter spent Saturday night at the home of C. Long.

Bud Carroll is able to furnish the public in all kind of lumber. Any one needing anything in that line call him at Johnson City.

East Appleton News:
Mrs. George Downer, who has been suffering from an attack of typhoid fever, is slowly improving.

Mrs. Newt Gwin and daughter Lucy and Mrs. Jake Baldwin spent Tuesday with Mrs. Russel Williams.

Mrs. Albert DeBold of Montrose visited the latter part of the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Cook.

The East Side Industrial Club met with Misses Alice and Ida Payne Saturday.

Curtis Pointer spent Saturday night with his sister, Mrs. Barret Biles.

Misses Edna and Mable Sapp visited Sunday with the Misses Gwin.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Lough and Mr. and Mrs. Lester McConnell spent Sunday with M. Hill and family.

Mrs. James Kirk is very sick and not expected to recover.

D.D. Peeler hauled his wheat to Schell City where he stored it until higher prices come.

Gates Merrifield has a number of teams scraping at his coal bank.

Harry Brown began work on his barn Monday. August Fisher is the builder.

Will Graves and family came over from Rich Hill Sunday.

Frank Diehl had his wood sawed Thursday.

Quite a number of our people were summoned to Pleasant Gap to testify in the Foster case of cruelty to his horses.

Miss Hazel Hough got one of her eyes injured by getting a barb struck in it from a fence.

The meeting at the tent closed Sunday night. The tent was taken down and shipped to Arkansas where it will be used in another meeting. There was much good done and many made to see the Lord.

Abe Zwahlen and Frank Bearce traded horses last week. They both think they cheated each other.

J.M. Brown had his fodder shredded last week.

Lute Wix and family took dinner with the family of Chas. Culver Sunday.

William Sutton is digging a cistern to catch water from the winter's rain.

Upper Monegaw:
Ebb Coleman returned home Monday from Joplin, where he underwent a surgical operation at that place about four weeks ago for appendicitis.

Orville Sneathen and wife have moved on the Pickerall farm, and Mr. Pickerill and family have located up two miles north of Appleton City.

We are sorry to say that Mr. Went's little son of Monegaw Springs, who was kicked by a horse last Sunday, is reported as no better.

E. Coleman and wife visited at Jas. Puffenbarger's Wednesday.

Clyde Robbins is on the sick list this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pickerall spent Sunday with E.L. Brock and wife.

Quite a large crowd attended preaching at the Monegaw schoolhouse Sunday night.
