William Sutton, David Dickey and Ira Brown went to Eureka, Ark., last Friday to attend a meeting of the Apostolle church.

Rev. Teays visited in these parts Tuesday before going to conference.

Herbert Page and L.M. Brown filled their silos last week.

Frank Diehl had the well drillers cleaning out the well he had drilled two years ago.

The threshing is all done here.

J.A. Wilson got himself and team tangled up in discing one day last week, getting a horse badly cut and himself so badly hurt that he had to go to the doctor.

Frank Diehl has an auto, which he bought last week.

Shady Hollow:
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford and children spent last week visiting relatives here.

Quite a number from this neighborhood attended the fair at Appleton City.

Mr. and Mrs. Jo Mock and son visited a few days last week with Chester Mock and family.

Miss Goldie Roundtree spent Sunday with Beulah Smith.

Rebel Lane enjoyed a watermelon supper Saturday evening at Charles Kinder’s.

Miss Pauline Raybourn spent Saturday night with Gladys Holt.

Chas. Zwahlen and family and Harvey Zwahlen and family spent Sunday at the Frank Nolan home.

A. Zwahlen is visiting relatives in Kansas.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Culver, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ammons, Mr. and Mrs. Smith Holt, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Ford, Neva and Tressa Gregg and Ruth Zwahlen spent Sunday at the John Ford home.

Chas. Zwahlen made a business trip to Butler Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Frey spent Sunday in Appleton City with his mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Dickson and children and Mr. and Mrs. Merl Sargent spent Sunday at the Harvey home.

Harry Randall purchased a Fordson tractor last week.

Mrs. Will Gragg spent Monday with Mrs. G. Quick.

Prof. Moreland visited the Oak Grove School one day last week.

Several from this vicinity attended the street fair at Appleton City last week.

Pleasant Gap:
Mrs. Fennewald’s mother and sister from Brownington have been visiting at the John Fennewald home.

Mrs. Will Sutton and Mr. Dickey and several others from this vicinity attended the Camp meeting at Eureka Springs, Ark.

Mr. and Mrs. John Reader and family from Deepwater were visiting her sister, Mrs. John Fennewald.

Elmer Sutton and family were Sunday visitors at the Earl Summons home near Schell City.

Miss Katie Diehl spent Sunday evening at the Chas. Walker home.

Ward Wilson is helping John Fennewald at the present.

Christian Hegnauer was hauling wheat for Walter Sweezy Saturday.

Miss Emma Wix is teaching the Seifers School this year. We wish her success.

Jno. Fennewald and son made a business trip to Appleton City early Monday morning and got home in time for breakfast.

Frank Diehl is the proud owner of a new Ford car.

Mrs. John Diehl and Grandma Diehl went to Papinsville Wednesday and called on John Fennewald’s on their way home.

Susie Ritchie and Gertrude Kenyon visited home folks Sunday.

The Always Faithful class will meet at the home of Mrs. Irl Barnett next Sunday night for singing.

Prairie Home School has begun and all the pupils are doing good work.

Goldie Snyder spent Sunday at the home of Maty Lila Barnett.

Pansy, Alice and Jimmie Dains spent Sunday at the home of Jas. McKinley.

Hazel Moore was entertained Sunday in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Sagaser.

Grandma Estes spent Sunday at the home of her son Cleve.

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grass and family spent Sunday with her folks and were accompanied home by her sister, Mrs. Ethel Lewis and children.

Earl Inskeep is helping cut corn at Lon Snyder’s this week.

The storm cellar that L.C. Gurley started for Jas. Barnett will soon be finished.

Mrs. N.D. Brown called on Misses Jennie and Judith Baskerville Monday.

Miss Ivah Neptune of Belle Plains, Kans., is visiting her sister, Mrs. R.T. Chapin and family.

Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Reid and little daughter of Peculiar, Mo., spent a few days last week with Mrs. Reid’s mother, Mrs. Pheasant.

Hudson School opened Monday with Miss Georgia Smith as teacher.

T. Anderson and family spent Sunday in the Ben Lovelace home.

George Frey and family left Saturday for their home in Nebraska after visiting relatives and friends here for the past two weeks.

Pauline Baskerville, Ruby Anderson and Lula Compton are the new students of this district to enter the Appleton City High School.
