Appleton City, MO 22 July 1920 Upper Monegaw: Orville Dines left Tuesday for Deepwater to assist his brother-in-law, J. Carroll, in haying. Mrs. John Thompson is on the sick list this week. She is no better at this writing (Monday). Alberta Hays called Friday eve on Leta Coleman. Bert Dines visited Sunday with Elva and Claudie Coleman. Chas. Dines and son Bert called Friday night at the Coleman home. Johnson City: Mrs. M. Sumpter spent Sunday with Mrs. W.R. Owens. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Claussen and Chester Ditty visited with Mr. and Mrs. Everleigh Ditty Wednesday of last week. Gibb Woolsey visited with relatives in the Johnson City neighborhood last week. Little Evalyne Crowder visited with her aunt, Mrs. Everleigh Ditty Friday of last week. J.P. Erhart traded his stock of merchandise at Johnson City to John Hixon for a farm near Osceola. Chas. Dingus and family and Mrs. W.H. Carroll spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Simon Shoop. Miss Elmora Shoop and Mary Carroll visited with Miss Dorotha and Bertha Dines Sunday. Dave Baldwin and family spent Sunday with Clayton Baldwin and wife. Bert Dines and family and C.G. Carroll and family and Mrs. Jas. Short and Mrs. Chas. Lillard attended church at Kidd Chapel Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Fitch and daughter visited Sunday with Henry Fitch and family. Mrs. Flora Allinson of Appleton City visited last week with her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Underwood. Mt. Hope: Plenty of fine showers that will help to make the corn crop. Farmers are busy haying. Mark Young and family of Spruce spent Sunday at Ed Erhart's. Mrs. McBride is visiting in Appleton City. Mrs. Minich of Hudson vicinity spent Monday with her daughter, Mrs. Dahlman. Miss Alice Covey of Appleton City is visiting in the Wesley Clark home. W.B. Stanford and family, J.A. Erhart and family, F.A. Erhart and mother and Miss Lucile Zink spent Sunday at Grant Taylor's near Appleton City. Miss Ethel Jackson came in Saturday for a visit with relatives. Barney Johnston and wife spent the day Tuesday in Montrose. Miss Lucile Zink is visiting her cousins Misses Marjorie and Ruth Stanford. |
