Rockville Department:
Notice to people of Rockville and vicinity. I will be at Mrs. Griggs' rooming house on Tuesday and Friday afternoon of each week from 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Call and see me about your ailments. Consultation Free. H.E. Collins, Osteopathic Physician.

Rev. Shirley of El Dorado Springs filled his regular appointment at the Baptist church Saturday night and Sunday.

The Order of the Eastern Star met Saturday night and adjourned till the next regular meeting night in September.

Mrs. C. Hill, Miss Kaitie Hill and Mrs. Kate Kamm spent Sunday with Mrs. Ben Payne at Appleton City.

Mrs. Pratt of Appleton City attended the funeral of Mrs. M. Wood the past week.

Joe Turner of Kansas City is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Turner.

Miss Thelma Griggs is visiting the Crowder family near Appleton City.

Mr. and Mrs. H. Pinnow and little Allie Griggs spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Rush at Appleton.

Dr. and Mrs. Chas. Powers, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Judy, Mr. Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. Watt Trail, Will Walker and family, J.N. McDavitt, Mrs. Piepmeier, Mr. and Mrs. James Heyle and a number of others spent Sunday at El Dorado Springs.

Wright Bailey of Appleton City visited his son, C.H. Bailey the past week.

Mrs. Sheern of Garnet, Kans., and formerly of Rockville, spent the latter part of the week with Mrs. J.W. Evans.

Frank Clark and daughter, Mrs. Maggie Laughlin of Clinton, and son Seth Clark of Harwood attended the funeral of Mrs. M. Wood the past week.

Ernest Siegismund and family of Tulsa, Okla., are visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.R. Siegismund.

The church social was well attended Saturday night and the band concert was much appreciated.

Prairie Home:
W.E. Moore and family attended church at Cole Camp Sunday.

Will Hopkins from Roscoe spent last Tuesday with his son Amp Hopkins.

Fred Jackson and family called on Mr. Mistler's Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sackett and son from Pittsburg, Kans., are visiting some of their relatives and friends of near Monegaw.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Woody and daughters spent Sunday night with their son Melvin Woody.

Mrs. Ethel Lewis and Mrs. Alfred Grass were seen in Monegaw Springs last Saturday.

J.C. Barnett and family and Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins called on Mr. N.D. Lewis and family Sunday evening.

John Ross from near Chalk Level spent one day last week with his sister, Mrs. J.C. Barnett.

Eastern Bates:
It is very warm and dry and farmers are wondering when it will rain. Stock water is falling in the pastures and all vegetation is perishing for want of moisture.

The ice cream social at Spruce on Saturday night was quite a success. The cream was extra fine and the cakes were delicious. They made a nice sum of money, which goes to the benefit of the Methodist church.

Harvest is in full sway, wheat is being cut this week, hay put up, and oats shocked. The farmers are very busy. Some fields are yielding well and others only fairly well.

Ira Eads has moved into his new store in Spruce, on South Main St.

Daisy Rains is binding oats for Mr. Good.

Jake Varns is putting up his fine field of clover hay this week.

Ray Lawson and family from Rich Hill visited with their parents Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Wilson were business visitors at the county seat Saturday afternoon.

Sunday school at Cumpton schoolhouse had 78 in attendance Sunday. They have a real live, interesting Sunday school there. The 4th of July, George Sunderwirth will make a patriotic talk and a program will follow. Come at 2 o'clock everyone, and you will be glad you came.

I.H. Dickerson and family spent Sunday at the George Van Hoy home.

Joseph Rorland and family spent Sunday with his parents, George W. Borland and wife.

L.S. Rains and family and Grandma Wenter were Sunday visitors at Charley Wilson's.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Summers motored to Ft. Scott Sunday where they will spend a few days.

The baseball boys gave an ice cream supper at Ward's hall Saturday night.

Chas Kirkland from Kansas came the last of the week to see his brother Bert who is suffering from paralysis, but is some better at this writing.

Herman Francis, Ivy Tillery and Nina Baird attended the ball game at Appleton City Sunday.

Mrs. C.C. Ransom from Topeka, is coming the latter part of the week for a visit with her mother, Mrs. Sullivan.

Taberville and Vicinity:
Earl Johnson and John Paxton left Saturday for the harvest fields in Kansas.

George Hays and sons who have been painting north of Rockville, returned home Friday.

Frank Robinson of Osceola was in town Friday.

Mrs. Maggie Johnson left Saturday for Windsor where she will visit friends, after which she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Ira Guy, of California, Mo.

Miss Effie Berry, who has been in El Dorado Springs for some time, returned home Saturday evening.

Mrs. Carpenter of Monegaw Springs is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Fred Oehring.

Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Stone and son of Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. John Heath spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Aldridge.

Mr. and Mrs. Ira Roberts and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Hays.

Bro. Webb filled his regular appointment at Bethel Saturday night and Sunday.

Rocky Hill:
Blanche and Elva Coleman attended church at Green Valley Sunday night.

Twenty-four were present at Sunday school Sunday.
