In the Realm of Society.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Pierce, Mrs. J.B. Egger, Mrs. J.E. Carter, and J.S. Finley, all of this city, went to Sedalia Friday morning to attend the annual Methodist Conference.

Miss Matilda Engelhart, of Montrose, was the guest of Miss Ethel Wilson at this place Saturday, at which time the young ladies favored The Journal with a pleasant call.

Mrs. C.F. Williams and Mrs. Maggie Edelblute will leave this week for Rogersville, Mo., where they will visit their step-mother, who is now past 88 years of age and in feeble health. They have not seen each other for many years and doubtless the meeting will be a happy one.

Mrs. Edelblute and her daughter, Mrs. Eva Grob, were pleasant callers at the Journal office one day last week, at which time Mrs. Edelblute renewed the subscription of her sons, J.L. Edelblute at Santa Nex, Calif., and Chas. Edelblute, of Santa Barbara, Cal., to whom she has been sending the paper several years.

In the last issue of the Journal mention was made of Prentis Walls going to Kansas City to see his sister, Miss Una, who had not been well for some time, and expected her to return with him and take a much needed rest. While able to work part of the time Miss Una was threatened with a general breakdown from too close application to work, and it was decided best for her to remain a few days longer to continue same medical treatment. Prentis has begun farm life again and work demanded his return.
