Mr. and Mrs. Addis Allinson were callers at Garland Waters, Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Billie Allinson spent Wednesday with her daughter, Mrs. Bert Ridgway.

Mrs. John Barnett, Mrs. A.P. Hill and Miss Edith Allinson were on the sick list last week.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hough February 26, a nine pound boy, whose name is Wesley Nelson.

Quite a number attended the entertainment and pie supper at Hoover school house Saturday night. The pies brought about eight dollars.

Spruce News:
Mrs. M.C. Shillinger is quite poorly at this writing.

Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Quick and George are suffering from a severe attack of la grippe.

A large crowd was in Spruce Saturday and attended the Gutridge sale. Mr. and Mrs. Gutridge will leave soon for a trip west. Their friends will be glad to know that their stay is only temporary as they are keeping their property.

We are glad to learn that Mrs. Mark Young has recovered and is able to be out again.

Mrs. James Evans and children are among the la grippe victims this week.

H. Gutridge and Clarence Romdall went over to Butler Sunday returning home Monday evening.

A number of the men and boys engaged in quite a wolf chase here Friday. They saw several but did not succeed in capturing any of them.

Pete McCook had the misfortune to get his foot badly sprained by a horse falling with him one day last week, but we understand he is getting along nicely.

Everett Hill has returned from El Dorado where he has been for the past several months. We are glad the attractions up here were so strong they brought Everett back among us.

Quite a number of our neighbors exchanged places last week. J.E. Kretzinger moved on the place I.M. Kretzinger recently purchased from the B.M. Young estate. Mr. Silvers moved to the place vacated by Mr. Kretzinger, Fred Snodgrass moved on the place Mrs. Snodgrass' father John Wilson recently bought and also a part of the B.M. Young farm. Wm. Jones moved to the place vacated by Mr. Snodgrass, and Wm. Silvers moved to the place vacated by Mr. Jones.

George Shelton and mother Mrs. Wm. Shelton spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. T.L. Pierce.

Rockville Department:
W.S. Walker was a business visitor to Appleton City Friday.

Robinson and Bailey shipped a car of hogs to Kansas City Monday.

Ed Hook of Appleton City was greeting Rockville friends Monday.

Mert Brown of Round Prairie transacted business in Rockville Friday.

Mrs. Ed Williams of Sedalia is visiting her girlhood friend, Mrs. J.P. Skillman.

J.S. Carroll of Route 2 has our thanks this week for subscription to the Journal.

W.L. Bennett and son shipped a mixed car of hogs and cattle to Kansas City Monday.

Mrs. J.M. Routsong and daughter of Appleton City is visiting her mother, Mrs. Lizzie Hall.

Mrs. Nannie Turk and partner, Mrs. Blakely are in Kansas City studying spring millinery.

Chas. Carter, one of the progressive farmers of West St. Clair, has our thanks for renewal to the Journal.

We understand S.J. Henville from north of town is moving into the J. McGur house in the north part of town.

Mr. Harvey of Des Moines, Iowa, who traded for the John McGee farm southeast of town has moved on the farm.

Casper Kamm, who has been attending the Business College in Sedalia for the past six months, has returned to his home here.

All bid a joyful farewell to old King Winter Saturday and with glad hearts welcomed the spring month of March. At this writing Monday the air is warm, the skies are blue and grass is green.

Gus Weichert, brother to our barber, E.F. Weichert, and Miss Elva Short from near Johnson City, took the train here Wednesday for Nevada, where they were married, returning on the evening train.

The Cemetery Association will meet in the Opera House at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, March 6th. The annual election of officers will be held, and all members are urged to attend, especially country members.

Dr. and Mrs. J.D. Todd of Adrian spent the past week with Mrs. Todd's brother, Mrs. Ed Britt and also her mother, who makes her home with her son, Ed. We understand Dr. and Mrs. Todd are moving to Pilot Grove.
