Thursday, 26 February 1914 Rockville Department: John Ridgeway and family have returned to their home in Dakota. Mrs. Dennie Ritchie is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Kleppinger. A.L. Rash and family and Mrs. Hamilton spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. H. Pinnow. Misses Ester Rush, Ferol Bozart and Josephine Evans recently took part in a theatrical entertainment at Schell City. Miss Ethel Lister who had spent some time visiting friends on Round Prairie has returned to her home at Nevada. Mr. Chas. Yoss, formerly of Rockville, held a public sale the past week, and we understand will move to Prairie City. Jolin Schuman, one of our enterprising and progressive farmers, living east of town in the edge of St. Clair, sends in his renewal this week for the Journal and also to receive the three other papers advertised in last week's Journal in renewing at this time. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shott of Durand, Oklahoma have welcomed into their home a tiny baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Shott were both brought up in Rockville and their many friends here will be glad to hear the news. Prairie Home: All those who were enlisted on sick list are better at this writing. Mr. Alva Puffenbarger spent Saturday night with Willie Marshall. Misses Russie Morris and Almee Sires took supper with Tobe Morris and wife Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Tobe Morris and Mr. James Barnett spent Sunday with R.L. Moore and family. Mrs. Casey and children were callers of Mrs. Bill Thompson and children Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Bert Ridgway's little boys was able to come home Monday. Mr. Ridgway went after then in a sled. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Thompson and son, Mr. and Mrs. S. Perrine and children, and Annis Barnett visited with Dan Waters and family Sunday. Mr. Joseph Bland, a former resident of St. Clair County, who now lives in Cedar County, was a surprise caller at M.J. Johnson's Friday night, also greeting other old friends. Come again Joe. Moving seems to be the order of the day. John Dark will live on the Mock Johnson place, Selsor Perrine on the old Binns place, Tobe Morris on the Humphrey place and Mr. Johnson is going west. Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Morris and daughter Russie and Almee Sires, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grass and Mrs. Lewis Casey and daughters Dovie, Pearl and Ruth enjoyed a nice visit at J.J. Winehester and wife Sunday. Taberville News: We are having plenty of rain and mud at this writing. Mrs. Ruth Dark was a caller at Mrs. Greeson's Thursday. |
