Miss Eunice Pipes and Mr. Burl Browning were quietly married in Butler, December 19. After a honeymoon trip to Kansas City they returned home, and will locate on the G. Epple farm. Mr. and Mrs. Browning are worthy young people and have a large circle of friends who wish them a happy and prosperous life.

Ethel Jackson and Bill Tillery were married in Osceola Wednesday.

Lee Hall, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Hall, and one of our most prominent young men, was unitd in marriage to Miss Yula Meyer, Sunday, June 27th, at the Presbyterian Church in Appleton City, by Rev. E.S. Brownlee, who also united the parents of Mr. Hall in marriage 23 years ago, Dec. 13th, 1919. The young couple were accompanied to Appleton City by Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Meyer of Altoona, Kans., Mr. Meyer being a brother of the bride, who is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer of Schell City, all parties being formerly of Rockville. After the marriage the bridal party returned to the home of the bride near Schell City, where a bountiful wedding dinner was served, and which was attended by Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Hall and family of Rockville. The many friends of the young couple join in wishing them a long, happy and useful life.

Lee E. Crook and Miss Laura Conrad of Osceola were united in marriage at the bride’s home in the north part of town last Sunday, March 25th. The ceremony was performed by Elder H.E. Carpenter, pastor of the Christian church, and was witnessed only by a few relatives and intimate friends. Mr. Crook is one of the principal attorneys at law in Osceola and had lived here many years, therefore is very well known. Miss Conrad is the daughter of Mrs. H.B. Conrad and is also well known to the citizens of this city. The Democrat wishes for them a happy wedded life.

Henry G. Willig of Appleton City and Miss Mary Harlan Lewis of Osceola were united in marriage Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs H.L. Lewis. The marriage ceremony was performed by Elder H.E. Carpenter. Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom left for Clinton, thence to Kansas City on their honeymoon.

Miss Bessie Lightcap, daughter of Prof. S.E. Lightcap, former superintendent of schools here, was united in marriage to Prof. R.L. Webb, principal of the Harrisonville schools.

Tuter – Harvey
H.M. (Milt) Tuter and Miss Lola Harvey were united in marriage by the probate judge at the courthouse in Warsaw, Tuesday, January 15.
Mr. Tuter is a well-known farmer and stockman of the Harris Bend district. His bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Harvey of Wisdom, is a former school teacher, having taught six terms of school in St. Clair, Henry and Benton counties.
Their many friends will join in wishing them much happiness.

Between 29 and 30 neighbors charivaried Mr. and Mrs. Corbet Skeens at their home in the Short neighborhood, on Tuesday night of last week, and on Friday night a number of them dropped in and gave the newlyweds a shower, and enjoyed a play party. Mr. and Mrs. Skeens recieved many nice and useful presents. “Those folks in the Short neighborhood are mighty nice folks”, says Corbet, “and while everybody seemed to have lots of fun at the party, there wasn’t any drinking and everybody was orderly.”

Walter Witham, near Brownington, and Miss Edna Scott, of Iconium, were married at the home of the bridegroom’s sister, Mrs. R.S. Carter, 712 East Green St., Sunday at 1 p.m. by Rev. J.R. Blythe, pastor of the Baptist church. The bride looked lovely in a tan dress of flat crepe with shoes and hose to match. She is a popular young lady of that community and the groom is a hustling young farmer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Witham, southeast of Brownington. The wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s parents, Sunday, and Monday, they were given a dinner at the home of the groom’s parents. They will live on the Casey ranch where Mr. Witham will work for James S. Spangler, going to house keeping March first. – Clinton Eye.
