Ben Wes Kapp, Jr. was born March 1, 1995 in Gulfport, MS, the son of Ben Wes Kapp, Sr. and Kimberly Dawn (Drieslein) Kapp. He passed away June 15, 2011 at Winona, MO at the age of 16 years. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert O. Kapp and Dexelva Kapp. Ben is survived by his parents, Ben Wess Kapp, Sr. and Kimberly Kapp of Winona, MO; three brothers, Harley W. Kapp, Robert W. Kapp and Cyde J. Kapp all of Winona, MO; one sister, Sheila M. Kapp of Winona, MO; one grandmother, Patricia Drieslein of Winona, MO; and a host of other family and friends. Ben had an infectious smile that everyone will remember for years to come. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Winona High School Gymnasium. Interment was in Kapp Family Cemetery in Winona, MO with Rev. Archie Taylor officiating under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes of Winona, MO.

Fatal Accident in Winona, MO Collision Injures 8, Kills 1 - A 2 vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening on US Highway 60 and County Road 601 in Shannon County.  16-year old Robert Koehler (Winona, MO) was driving on County Road 601 with Ben Kapp - also 16 and from Winona - riding as a passenger.  Koehler attempted to turn on to US Highway 60, failing to yield, and pulled in front of a Chevrolet Trailblazer being driven on Highway 60 by 32-year old Calvin Wood (Willow Springs, MO).  Upon impact, Ben Kapp was ejected from the vehicle, and Robert Koehler continued to roll in the vehicle before it came to a rest overturned.  Kapp was pronounced dead at the scene by Shatnnon County officials.  Koehler was transported by emergency helicopter to St. John's Hospital in Springfield.  Driver Calvin Wood, along with all 6 of his passengers (Kiresten Loneman 12, Jade Roberts 13, Destiny Wood 14, Jasmine Wood 12, Kayden Wood 2, and Melissa Wood 33) were rushed by ambulance to the nearest emergency room at St. Francis Hospital.  All occupants of Wood's vehicle are residents of Willow Springs, MO. 

WILLIAM KASINGER

William Kasinger was born December 28, 1914 at Eminence, Missouri, the son of William and Maude Kasinger, and departed this life on January 1, 1986 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 71. He was in World War II and then worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, Mo. He is survived by three sisters, Verna K. Johnson of Morgan, Georgia; Lucille W. Emerson of St. Louis, Mo.; and Hazel Schnemann of Deltona, Florida; three nieces, one nephew, and four great nieces. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the Duncan Funeral Chapel at Eminence with Reverend Lloyd Welch officiating. Burial was in the New Eminence Cemetery at Eminence, Mo. under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence. 

BRANDON CALVIN KAUT

Brandon Calvin Kaut, son of City and Gordon 'G. C.' White and Kevin Howell, was born October 12, 1984 in Mountain View, MO. He was tragically killed January 27, 2007 in an apartment fire in Maryville, MO at 22 years of age. At 18 months of age, Brandon and his mother moved to the Appleton City/Taberville area, where he grew up. He was baptized at Pape Christian Church. He attended school at Appleton City, graduating in 2003 from Appleton City High School. In high school, Brandon was active in art and drama classes, which he loved and excelled. He like working with computers and was a member of the Student Council, Foreign Language Club, Quiz Bowl Team, National Honor Society, and had one of this many poems published in Teachers’ Selection Anthology of Eleventh Grade Poetry. Even though he had not been active in music classes in school, he was very musical, writing songs, lyrics, poetry, and playing guitar. During his last two years of high school, Brandon lived with his mentor, teacher, and friend, Larry Swisher, and wife, Raymona. They became his second family in those years guiding and supporting him toward his goals. Following high school, Brandon moved to Maryville, MO, where he attended Northwest Missouri University. Brandon had become very proficient at photography and planned to open his own studio. He had studied graphic design and was also very competent at web design. He was currently working at Kawasaki in Maryville and doing photography on the side. He loved having his family visit him and showing them all of the photos and graphic art work. He was a wonderful son and brother. He had a multitude of friends and just loved life. Brandon is preceded in death by his brother, Shannon White; and two step-grandfathers, Green Morgan and Gordon White. Survivors include his father, Kevin Howell, Ozark, MO; his mother, Cindy, and husband, Gordon 'G.C.' White, Schell City, MO; two brothers, Kendall and Triston White, Schell City; paternal grandparents, George and Marilyn Howell, Summersville, MO; and Janice Howell. Mtn. Home, AR; maternal grandparents, Calvin and Verna Kaut, Summersville, MO; and maternal step-grandparents, Jay and June Jelks, Rockville, MO. Services were held Monday, January 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Hill and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, MO with Rev. Gene Gray officiating. Internment was in Taberville, Cemetery, Taberville, MO under the direction of Hill and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, MO.

CALVIN C. KAUT, JR.

Calvin C. Kaut, Jr., was born June 22, 1944 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Calvin C. and Verna (Payne) Kaut. He departed this life August 1, 2009 in St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 65 years. Junior served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was united in marriage to Linda Phipps on June 22, 1978 in Mountain View, Missouri. He is preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Kaut. Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Mountain View, Missouri; parents, Calvin and Verna Kaut of Arroll, Missouri; children, Mark Devine and wife, Kari, of Raymore, Missouri, Steven Devine and wife, Yvonne, of Lenexa, Kansas, Jason Kaut and wife, Sarah, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and Jennifer Morley, and husband, Chad, of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, Robert Kaut and wife, Rosie, Mountain View, Jerry Kaut and wife, Janet, Houston, Missouri, and Jack Kaut of Arroll, Missouri; two sisters, Wanda Cooper and husband, Calvin, of Summersville, Missouri, and Cindy White and husband, G.W., of Shelbyville, Missouri; and grandchildren, Brandi, Jacob and Rebecca Devine, Emily and Madison Kaut, and Harlow Morley. Junior worked as a riverboat first mate for thirty-three years, retiring from Artco in 2008. He loved the outdoors, enjoying both gardening and camping. He was an avid antique collector. Junior was known for making people laugh with his candid sense of humor. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Yarber Chapel. Interment with military honors were in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. 

CHADRICK HERMAN KAUT

Chadrick Herman Kaut, son of Richard Doyle Kaut and Judith Marlene Steelman Kaut was born September 13, 1974 at Houston, Mo. and passed away from injuries he received from a motorcycle accident, on Sunday, May 21, 2006 at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Mo., making his age 31 years eight months and eight days. Chad was united in marriage to Belinda Franklin, May 30, 1995 at Houston, Mo. They had two sons; Austin age 12; Chadrick Herman JR. (C.J.) age three, and one daughter, Megan age five months. Chad received his education from the Summersville Schools. He worked at G and H Concrete Company at Carthage, Mo. Chad enjoyed being with his family and he loved being outdoors. Chad is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Betty Steelman; one uncle, Ray Kaut; one aunt, Linda Barton; and a niece, Kayana Louise Kaut. Surviving are his parents, Richard and Judy Kaut of Sarcoxie, Mo.; his wife Belinda and three children, Austin, C.J. and Megan, all of the home in Sarcoxie, Mo.; his brother David Doyle Kaut and wife Joni, of Little Rock, Ark.; his sister, Heidi T. Kaut of Sarcoxie, Mo.; his paternal grandparents, Harry and Ester Kaut of Arroll, Mo.; his maternal grandfather, Frank Steelman of Hartshorn, Mo.; several aunts and uncles, and cousins. Chad is also survived by his many friends. Chad will always be in our hearts and memories. Services were held Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Cronk officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

HARRIET R. MILBANK KAUT

Harriet R. Milbank was born Jan. 12, 1891 at Chicago Cook Co IL; died Apr. 22, 1990 at Birch Tree Shannon Co MO. Harriet Kaut, 99, Birch Tree MO, formerly of Arroll, died at Birch View Nursing Center. She was the daughter of Herbert and Ada Milbank. She married George W. Kaut in 1909 at St Louis MO. She is survived by six sons, Al, Calvin, and Harry Kaut, all of Summersville MO; Ralph Kaut, Tucson AZ; Raymond Kaut, Council Bluff and Thomas Kaut, Winfield; daughter Marie Bosley, Kansas City, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George on May 9, 1949; two daughters, Georgia and Margaret; two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 25, 1990 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Emmett Bradford and Rev. Glen Green officiating. Interment was in Arroll Cemetery with Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Tommy Kaut, Richard Kaut, Ray Kaut, Melvin Kaut, Jack Kaut and Robert Kaut.  -  'Grandma, as everyone called her, was a wonderful person. She was a midwife and delivered almost every baby in the Arroll area in the earlier days. I remember one of the ministers saying during her service 'Grandma sent 5 of her boys to war and with her faith in the Lord, brought them all back home.' Today she is having a wonderful family reunion in Heaven because she has all but 3 of her children, several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren with her. We love and miss you, Grandma. Bessie Emiline Stacy was born on June 10, 1922 in Fredericktown, MO to Miles Lawson and Ada Florence (Sechrest) Stacy. Bessie went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2009 at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 14 days at Birch Tree, MO. Bessie was born in Christ when she was around the age of 9 at Trace Creek, MO near Fredericktown. She was baptized at the age of 16 at Alley Spring, MO. Bessie was united in marriage on April 8, 1939 to Roger Howard Keeling at Eminence, MO. To this union six children were born, Jerald Roger (JR), Bessie Imogene, Gary Truman, Lena Marlene, Kenney Dwaine and Robin Renee.  Roger and Bessie predominantly made their home in the Flatwoods/Ink community. Bessie attended church on a regular basis and made it a point to be there every time the door was open as her health permitted. Bessie loved to sing with her family for the glory of God. Singing is something Bessie enjoyed to her last day on this earth. I'm sure she is another angel in the heavenly choir singing soprano with her sister Aileen singing alto, her brother-in-law Reaber singing bass and her husband singing tenor. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Flatwoods for many years and actively participated in activities to help the church, as well as the young people. Bessie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Grandma Bessie was always ready to tell them about the Lord. Bessie was always giving advice to the young people, such as live for God and to pray and trust in the Lord. Bessie was anointed with the spirit of the Holy Savior in her life. She had a deep love for her family and would tell them to serve the Lord.  Bessie is preceded in death by her husband Roger; her son JR; her parents Lawson and Ada Stacy; her mother and father-in-law George and Lena Keeling; her sister Aileen; her brother Elva; six other siblings; one grandson James Roger Keeling; one great granddaughter Jacklyn Louise Whirrell; and a great grandson James Edward Whirrell, Jr. Bessie is survived by her children Imogene Blake and husband Gene of Summersville, MO, Gary Keeling and wife Kathy of Eminence, MO, Marlene Brawley and husband Junior of Summersville, MO, Kenney Keeling and wife Tammy of Eminence, MO, and Robin Porter and husband Reese of Eminence, MO and daughter-in-law Rosemary Keeling of Summersville, MO. She is survived by her brother Russell and wife Berna Dean Stacy of Salem, MO; one half-sister Alice Stacy of Nixa, MO; grandchildren Jerald, Adina, Jeff, Therisa, Brenda, Kandra, Darrin and Kimberly, Stacey and Anita, Kristen, Angela and Nathan, Amanda and Daphne, Roger and Rayni. She is also survived by 35 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  Bessie loved to make fried pies, cook and sew. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Bessie taught Sunday School for many years leading the children in Gleaner Service. She was a loyal disciple for Christ. Bessie lived her life as an example of how to live for the Lord. Bessie remained loyal to her love for Roger throughout the many years of death that separated them and they are now where they belong, together in Heaven. Bessie will be missed deeply, but her love and legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Flatwoods Church of God of Prophecy in Eminence, MO with Rev. Carl Younger and Don Keeling officiating. Interment was in Flatwoods Cemetery in Eminence, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home.

Etta Violetta Plummer was born June 23, 1923 in Shannon County, MO to George Thomas PLUMMER and Nettie Armanda LYNCH. Etta passed away Tuesday December 26, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, MO at the age of 83 years. She was united in marriage to Jessie Lee STACY on November 17, 1942. He passed away March 12, 1978. She was later remarried to Reaber KEELING on January 28, 1985. Preceding Etta in death are her parents George and Nettie PLUMMER; her first husband Jessie STACY; one infant nephew Terry Lynn PERCY; one niece Aida Lynn PLUMMER; one step daughter Estalee SMITH and 3 brothers- in-law. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Reaber of Birch Tree, MO; 4 sisters Lois LAMPKINS of Birch Tree, MO; Dorothy STOOPS and husband Leland of Ellington, MO; Neva CRABTREE and Jewell PERCY and one brother Paul PLUMMER all of Mountain View, MO; one step son Donald KEELING and wife Jean of Granite City, IL; one step daughter Darlene ELDRINGHOFF and husband Maurice of Summersville, MO; 9 step grandchildren; 15 step great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Etta was a faithful member at the Church of God of Prophecy until her health prevented her from attending. MARY AILEEN STACY KEELING

Mary Aileen Stacy was born into the home of Lawson and Ada Stacy July 10, 1920, at Fredericktown, Mo.  She departed this life Nov. 9, 1984, at the Texas Co. Memorial Hospital at Houston, Mo., at the age of 64 years, 4 months. Aileen was united in marriage to Reaber Eual Keeling Oct. 14, 1939 at Eminence, Mo.  To this union were born one son and two daughters.  Aileen was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. She leaves to mourn her husband, Reaber, of the home; one son, Don, of Granite City, IL.; two daughters, Estalee Smith of Granite City, IL;  and Darlene Ipock of Summersville, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Jean Keeling; two sons-in-law, Kenton Smith and Bill  Ipock; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Dana, Don Jr., Kelly. Patrick, Lena, Jody.  Jada and Jessie; two brothers, Elva Stacy and Russell Stacy, both of Salem, Mo.; two sisters, Bessie Keeling of Eminence, Mo., and Alice Young of Salem, Mo.; and a host of relatives and friends. Aileen accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 11 and became a member of the Church of God at the age of 14.  Most of her girlhood was spent in traveling from town to town in south central Mo. After her marriage, most of her life was spent in the Flatwoods and Flatrock communities. Aileen started singing with her sister, Bessie when she was six years old and wherever they were, people were blessed by their singing.  Her whole life has been spent in singing and working for God.  First with her father, who was a minister and took the girls all over the country where he preached and they sang and God wonderfully blessed in their services. After the two sisters married Keeling brothers, they have sung all over this country and especially around Flatwoods, as the Keeling Quartet. Aileen continued singing and working for God until her failing health confined her at home.  She has been greatly missed in the church since her long illness but God held her hand all the way.  Not many hours before her parting breath, she told her sister that she could see the angels.  Even though she will be sadly missed by her loved ones, we believe that when we walk through the gates of Glory, she will be standing there to welcome us in. 

MURREL OTTO KEELING

Murrel Otto Keeling was born May 10, 1903 in Shannon County, Missouri, the son of Alfred and Sara Jane Ramsey Keeling and departed this life Sept. 2, 1990 at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, one brother, and two sisters. He is survived by three daughters, Rebekah Gillis of San Francisco, CA, Donna Hansen of Trimont, Minnesota, and Quanna Anderson of Friendswood, Texas ; two brothers Ruben M. Keeling of Clifton, CO, and Richard Keeling of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Alta Short of Mountain View, MO, and Hazel Miller of Summersville, MO; thirteen grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept. 4, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Summersville, with Rev. Bud Younger and Rev. Leland Stoops officiating.  Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery in Birch Tree under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Summersville.

Reaber Eual Keeling

Reaber Eual Keeling was born September 2, 1919 in Flatwoods, MO to the late George H. Keeling and Lena (Wilkins) Keeling. He passed away February 20, 2007 at Birch Tree, MO, making his age 87 years and 5 months. He married Mary Aileen Stacy on November 14, 1939, making their marriage 44 years until her passing on November 9, 1984. Three children were born to this union. The late Estalee Smith of Granite City, IL; Don Keeling of Granite City, IL, and Darlene Eldringhoff of Flat Rock, MO. On January 28, 1985, he was united in marriage to Etta Stacy. They lived in Birch Tree, MO until Etta passed away December 26, 2006, making their union 21 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lena Keeling; three brothers, Roger, Rural, and Radford Keeling; one sister, Thela Baker; five brothers-in-law, Elmo Baker, Elva Stacy, Arvel Lampkins, Floyd Crabtree and Jim Percy; one sister-in-law, Juanita Stacy; his two wives, whom he cherished, Aileen and Etta; one beloved daughter, Estalee Smith and three nephews, J.R. Keeling, G. L. Baker and Stanley Keeling. Reaber is survived by one son-in-law, Kenton Smith of Granite City, IL, and children, Kyle Smith and Kelly Cathey; one son, Don, and wife, Jean Keeling, of Granite City, IL, and children, Dana Paul, Don Keeling Jr., Patrick Keeling and Lena Bryant; one daughter, Darlene and husband, Maurice Eldringhoff, of Flat Rock, MO and children, Jody Ipock, Jada Motsenbocker and Jesse Ipock; one brother, Roland Keeling, and wife, Mary, of Summersville, MO; seven sisters-in-law, Bessie Keeling, Eileen Keeling, Louise Keeling, Lois Lampkins, Dorothy Stoops, Neva Crabtree and Jewell Percy; two brothers-in-law, Paul Plummer of Mountain View, MO and Russell Stacy and wife, Bernadean, of Salem, MO. He leaves behind two children, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Reaber grew up in Flatwoods, MO, farming and working a cross-cut saw with his older brother, Roger. Later after his marriage to Aileen, his brother Roger and wife Bessie (Aileen's' sister) along with his Dad (George) formed the Keeling Quartet. His bass voice always carried loud and strong. In May 1944, he was drafted into WWII, serving as a Combat Medic, once again in a role of helping others. He served his country proudly, being awarded two Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, and also a Medical Badge. After returning state side, his wife, Aileen, had saved enough to buy a small farm in Flat Rock, MO. He worked in sawmills and hauled cord wood for many years. Later, he served as Northern County Commissioner of Shannon County for four years and was also employed by Summersville schools as a bus driver until he retired. He loved planting his garden in the spring and the harvest it brought forth. His hobbies were hunting, especially with those ole hounds Reab, Rus, Don and Kent. He found great pleasure listening to those ole hounds hot on the chase. Later after he lost his first rose, Aileen, he met his second rose, Etta. They found a wonderful and unique love until God called her home. He was a man who had a deep love for his family and country; he never met a stranger or failed to help a neighbor. As the years went by, his love for the Lord and family became his whole life. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 24, 2007 in the Duncan Funeral Chapel at Summersville, MO with Rev. Roger Smith and Jody Ipock officiating. Interment was in the Flatwoods Cemetery at Eminence, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Summersville, MO.

ROGER HOWARD KEELING

Roger 'Howard' Keeling was born March 20, 1918 at Flatwoods in Shannon County, Mo. to George and Lena Keeling.  And departed this life November 10, 1978 at his home, near Ink, Mo.  At the age of 60 years, 7 months, and 21 days.  He was united in marriage to Bessie Emiline Stacy, April 8, 1939 at Eminence, Mo.  To this union was born 6 children, Jerald Roger, Bessie Imogene, Gary Truman, Lena Marlene, Kenney Dewayne and Robin Renee.  He leaves to mourn him:  his wife Bessie, his three sons, J.R., Gary and Kenney all of Eminence, three daughters, Imogene Blake and Marlene Brawley of Summersville, and Robin of the home.  Four grandsons and  six granddaughters.  Four brothers Reaber of Summersville, Rual and Radford of Eminence, Roland of St. Louis and one sister Thela of Poplar Bluff.  In addition to these he leaves a host of relatives, in-laws, and friends.  Roger was preceded in death by his father, mother and one infant grandson James Roger Keeling.  Roger was never a member of any church but left behind the testimony that he knew the Lord and was ready to meet his maker.  There are many outstanding things to be said about Roger, but perhaps the things he will be remembered most for will be his many years of singing the good old gospel songs and how ready he always was to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  We will miss him very much, and will picture him in our hearts and minds singing the blessings of God in the heavenly choir.  Our loss in Heavens gain.

PEARL SLAUGHTER KEENEY

Pearl Slaughter Keeney - We bid goodbye to Pearl Keeney, 86, one of 10 children born to Davidson Stokes Slaughter and Emily Caroline (Ritz) Slaughter.  She was born January 6, 1898 near Success, Missouri and died on December 10, 1984 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, Mo. She was united in marriage to Ira Keeney June 14, 1923 in Rolla, Missouri.  They had the rare privilege of spending more than 61 years of their life together. She is survived by her husband, Ira, of Eminence, and a brother, Elmer Slaughter of Licking Missouri, a host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.  There are other relatives and many friends made throughout the years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Albert, James, Charley and Louis; also four sisters, Elizabeth, Leona, Mary Ellen and an infant. Pearl spent the early years of her life in Texas County, where she was a school teacher.  She and her husband also lived in Bakersfield, California for a time, and in 1959 they moved to Eminence, Missouri, where they still maintain their home. She gave her heart to Christ many years ago and was a member of the West Eminence Christian Church, active as long as her health permitted. She had many interests in life, but most of all she loved caring for her home and family, and will be remembered with the deepest love and respect by all who knew her.  Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. in the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Houston, with Rodney Brown officiating.  Burial was in the Van Cleve Cemetery near Licking, MO.

Levi James Keller, son of Mark and Angelia (Miller) Keller, was born on March 14, 1994 and departed this life suddenly on July 31, 2011 at the age of 17 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Levi attended the Willow Springs School from Kindergarten through the 5th grade. He then attended Mountain Grove Schools and at the time of his passing, was preparing for his senior year. Levi was saved at the age of 7 and baptized at the age of 9. He rededicated his life at a service at Camp Joy on July 29. Levi attended the Gentryville Church of God where he was involved in their Youth Group. Levi was very passionate about hunting and fishing. He was especially competitive with his older brother, Ryan, in hunting and fishing endeavors. Levi also loved the farm. He always had big ideas for his mom and dad to accomplish. He was an avid Future Farmers of America member and loved to participate in the FFA trips. Levi had recently joined the Eastern Douglas County Fire Department and was proud to be a member of the team. He was very proud to wear his uniform and badge. When his dad asked him why he wanted to be a fire fighter, his reply was that he just wanted to help people. Levi had fun in life and was considered a prankster. He enjoyed playing jokes on anyone that was available. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Levi was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Rita Keller. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Angelia Keller, and his brother, Ryan, all of Drury, Missouri; his paternal grandfather, Tony Keller of Summersville, Missouri; his maternal grandparents, Don and Sue Miller of Summersville; his great grandmother, Ruby Vogler of Mountain View, Missouri; and many other family, friends, neighbors, classmates, and fellow fire fighters.

Josephus KELLEY, son of Henry KELLEY of VA, married Margaret Jane NORRIS 14 Nov 1867 in Lawrence Co OH, the daughter of Joseph Martin NORRIS and Mary Frances HARRISON. She was born 25 Aug 1850 in Lawrence Co OH, and died 23 Mar 1924 in Montrose County, Colorado. Joe was born 26 Apr 1846 in Fayette Co VA and died 19 Dec 1930 in Mesa, Colorado.
Their daughter Mary Catherine married John George JONES, son of William E. and Elizabeth E. (TURLEY) JONES.]
Margaret Jane was born 25 August 1850 in Aid Twp, Lawrence Co OH. She was the eldest child of Joseph and Frances. When she was 21 she married Josephus (Joe) Kelley. He was born in Fayette Co VA (now West Virginia) 26 April 1846, the son of Henry Kelley, who was also born in VA.
Mary Catherine's brothers and sisters were: Effie Ann, married James Nelson KILE; George Washington, married Laura Jane JONES; James Henry, married Lillie Carolyn JONES; Theodore Leroy married Julie Elizabeth JACKSON; Joseph Benjamin Perry married 1) Jenny Vee SHOEMATE, 2) Mabel Lawrence BEACH; Edward S. and Hilda M. both died in infancy; Sarah Frances married James Richard JONES; William Oscar married Era May HARRISON; and Nora Mae Agnes married Charles Monroe ROSS. Three of the children married siblings from the same JONES family. Mary Catherine married a cousin to this family, the son of William Jones. The first four children were born in Lawrence Co OH and the remainder in Shannon Co MO after their move in 1876. The Kelley family lived in the Rocky Creek Community and Joe Kelley sometimes preached at the Horner Church. Sometime after 1914 the family moved west to Colorado. Jane died 23 Mar 1924 in Montrose Co CO and is buried in Olathe Cemetery. Joe died 19 Dec 1930 in Mesa Co CO and is buried beside his wife.

Olie Aline Kelly, daughter of Ivy KELLY and Amanda Arvilla BRESSLER KELLY, was born May 31, 1934 in Shannon County, Missouri and passed away at the St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, MO, Friday, October 12, 2007 making her age 73 years. Aline was united in marriage to Richard ‘Dick’ Abbott. They were not blessed with children, but loved their nieces and nephews. She was raised in the Catholic Faith. Aline loved cats, television, family, friends, and dancing. One of the highlights of her life was meeting Elvis in a dance hall in Arkansas, when she and her sister Merceline were celebrating her coming out of the children's home. She is preceded in death by her father Ivy KELLY, mother Amanda SHOUP, brothers, Damon KELLY, Buster KELLY, Simon SHOUP, and sister Merceline LEE. Surviving are one sister Stella May WALTERS of Lone Dale, MO; sister-in-law Darlene SHOUP of Mountain View, MO and brother-in-law Bob LEE of Summersville, MO and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services were held Wednesday, October 17, 2007; at 2:00 PM at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville, under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.

Tyson Eugene Kelly, 40, passed away on November 12, 2013 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. He was born July 19, 1973. Tyson leaves behind his mother, April Kelly-Rush; an uncle, Joe Kelly (Loretta); an aunt, Dorita Beecher; sisters, Sundance Bravo (Miguel) and Autumn Hedges; nephews, Nathaniel Bravo, Angel Bravo and Taylor (Tater) Hedges Jr.; a niece, Shandiin Bravo; and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. Tyson also leaves behind lots of friends. Tyson was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Jeanne Manakaja Kelly, which brings comfort in the knowledge that they may be united once again; his grandfather, Chester A. Kelly; and uncles Allen Kelly, John Kelly and Justin Kelly. Tyson worked at Sonic and for many years at Walmart. He is greatly missed. A service will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 23 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3180 Rutherford Drive in Kingman. A service also will be held on the Hualapai Reservation in Peach Springs at 3 p.m. at the community multi-purpose building. Burial will take place Sunday morning at Box Canyon Cemetery.

Mildred Viola Weaver was born August 13, 1915 in Akron, Colorado to Charles C. Weaver and Jennie Reeves. She passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Birch Tree, Mo. at the age of 90 years. Mildred was married to Virgil M. Thompson in 1931 at Savannah, Mo. Virgil preceded her in death in 1942. She later married Ernest in 1945 in Burlington Junction, Mo. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents Charles C. Weaver and Jennie (Reeves) Weaver; her first husband Virgil Thompson; three daughters, Joann Thompson, Virgie Thompson and Thelma Smallwood; two brothers, Paul Weaver and Carl Weaver; one sister, Florence Brooks. One grandchild, Bobby Smallwood; and one great-grandchild Anthony L. Niehaus. She is survived by her children Rosetta and William Yarbrough of Ada, Okla.; Bessie Houseman of Mountain View, Mo.; Geraldine and Jesse Wadkins of Mountain View, Mo.; Earnest and Mary Kempf of Birch Tree, Mo.; Joyce and Charles Cunningham of St. Charles, Mo.; Garry Kempf of Mountain View, Mo.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mildred will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held Friday, April 7, 2006 at Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, Mo. with Rev. Arnold Wade officiating. George Washington Kent was born June 9, 1926 at West Eminence, MO the son of George W. Kent and Iva Lane Kent and departed this life on December 29, 1988 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO at the age of 62 years. He was first married to Bessie McAfee Akers and to this union two children were born.  He later married Hazel Kent at Winona, MO. He was preceded in death by his father, and one son, Michael George Kent. He is survived by his mother, Iva Culpepper of Van Buren, MO; one daughter, Jean Tucker of Gray Summitt, MO; one brother, Tom Kent of Van Buren, MO; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Sohn of St. Clair, MO; and four grandchildren, Greg and Bobbie Tucker, and Jason and Shelley Kent, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duncan Funeral Chapel at Winona with the Rev. A.D. Cleaver officiating. Graveside services were held Saturday December 31 at 3:30 p.m. in the St. Bridgett's Cemetery at Pacific, MO under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Winona.

William Kerr was born February 10, 1902 in Carter Co MO to John M. KERR and Melvina (FOSTER) KERR, and departed this life on August 12, 1999 at Fremont MO at the age of 97 years. William is survived by three sons, Leeman KERR and wife Shirley, Ellington MO, William KERR, Fremont MO, and Jess KERR and wife Janice, Fremont MO; two daughters, Nellie BLANKS and husband Nobel, and Ellen KERR; ten grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. William was saved in 1954 at the Fremont Baptist Church. He was united in marriage on October 26, 1930 to Florence Naoma SIMPSON in Fremont MO. Florence passed away on February 28, 1983. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter Melba, two brothers, two grandchildren, five sisters and two step great grandchildren. William will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held Monday, August 16, 1999 at the Duncan Funeral Home in Winona MO at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Glen HAMPTON officiating. Interment was at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Winona MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence.

Flora Elizabeth Culpepper, only daughter of Joseph A. and Sarah Culpepper, was born February 1, 1892 near Montier, Missouri, and departed this life on January 6, 1982 in California at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 5 days. She was converted and became a member of the Methodist Church when she was 11 years old, and remained a faithful Christian the rest of her life. She was married to J.V. Cooper at Piggott, Arkansas in  1909, and to this union two children were born, Ruel and Leah. Ruel preceded his mother in death, having departed this life October 14, 1942.  Leah resides in California.  Sister Key was spending the winter with Leah at the time of her death. Flora was married to Joe W. Key at Memphis, Tennessee October 30, 1918, and to this union three children were born, Willie, Ruth and Joanne. Sister Key was instrumental in helping found the West Eminence Christian Church, of which she, her husband Joe and three children, Willie, Ruth and Joanne all became members in April of 1933. She was also preceded in death by her husband and two more children. Joe passed away March 2, 1963; her daughter, Joanne, April 7, 1973; and her son, Willie, May 7, 1973. In recent years Sister Key lived with Leah during the winter months and with Ruth during the summer. She is survived by two daughters Lelah Button of Rancho, California and Ruth Thornton of Eminence, Missouri; also 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, of whom Levi Culpepper of Eminence, Missouri...(the rest is missing.  Burial at New Eminence Cemetery.

Caitlin Clare Kile was born February 16, 1990 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, MO the daughter of Danny Ray Kile and Janet Marie (Lewis) Kile. She passed away April 9, 2009 at Winona, MO at the age of 19 years. Caitlin was preceded in death by her grandparents Mariclaire Byron and Kenneth and Juanita Kile; uncles and aunts Richard H. Lewis, Thomas Lewis, Jimmy Kile, and Sharon Sue (Kile) D'Angelo and husband Daniel Wayne D'Angelo. Caitlin is survived by her parents Danny and Janet Kile of Winona, MO; two sisters Michaela Kile and Caillie Kile both of Winona, MO; her best boy Kaden Taylor; her grandfathers Raymond Lee Lewis and Daniel Byron both of Overland, MO; a great-great aunt Roselyn Matthews of St. Charles, MO; her aunts and uncles Amy Kathleen Lewis of St. Louis, MO, James T. Lewis and wife Sheri of St. Louis, MO, Raymond M. Caitlin graduated from Winona High School in 2008. She played volleyball from 4th grade throughout high school. She was a member of the State Championship Team where they won State in her Junior year and second place in her senior year. After graduation, Caitlin attended Missouri State University in West Plains for a short time before she began working at Vision Christian Academy in Winona where she taught the toddler class. Caitlin loved children, she was the mother hen to all that came around her and she would flog anyone who tried to come against them. Caitlin was active in the music ministry with the children's church at the House of Prayer in Winona. She always helped whenever and wherever she could. Caitlin loved the outdoors, volleyball, riding horses, 4-wheelers, watching bull riding and helping on the family farm. She loved to play with her little sisters and spending time with her family and friends. Caitlin was a beautiful young woman who had beauty within as well. She had many moms and dads and there always seemed to be enough of Caitlin to go around. She had an "Irish Wit" about her as she was able to tell someone to buzz off in such a way, they would look forward to the trip. Although she could get mad, she always got happy very quickly. She had many, many friends, and she had an unconditional love for others. Caitlin loved everyone, but before anyone, she loved the Lord. Since early in her life, Caitlin wanted to be an organ donor. She always said she didn't need them where she was going. Caitlin's gift of donation will help many others. Caitlin often said she was not afraid of death because she knew where she was going Ð to Heaven to be with Jesus. Although Heaven has gained a new angel, her family and friends have lost a good friend, and the world has lost a special angel. Visitation was held Monday, April 13, 2009 at the House of Prayer Church in Winona, MO from 5PM until 9 PM. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10 AM at the House of Prayer Church in Winona with Rev. Archie Taylor officiating. Interment was in the Bethany Chapel Cemetery at Eminence, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Winona. ~

Emma Ollie Sutton was born May 15, 1893 at Eminence, MO the daughter of Robert S. and Eveline Chilton Sutton and departed this life on December 21, 1992 at Truman Medical Center West in Kansas City, MO at the age of 99 years. She was united in marriage to James W. "Buck" Kile and to this union eight children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Buck in 1969; one daughter, Alta Chitwood; one infant son, Sutton, two granddaughters; one grandson; three brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by three sons, Delbert Kile of Auburn, California; Kenneth Kile of Winona, MO; Paul Kile of Merriam, Kansas; three daughters, Dorothy Howell of Auburn, California; Evelyn Odom of Merriam, Kansas; and Pauline Bonomo of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Frank Sutton of Birch Tree, MO; twenty-eight grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 24, 1992 at 10 am in the Duncan Funeral Chapel at Eminence with Murray Keene and Don Smith officiating.  Interment was in New Eminence Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence.

Wanita Pearl Ulrich was born December 14, 1924 at Lebanon, Mo., the daughter of Elmer and Ada Adkins Ulrich and departed this life on April 25, 2004 at Birch Tree Place in Birch Tree, at the age of 79 years. She was united in marriage to Gaines Arnold Kinder and to this union six children were born. Wanita had a career as a homemaker, baker/cook and a seamstress. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, shopping, gardening, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She attended the Methodist Church of Birch Tree. She will be remembered for her kindness, wit and her abilities as a baker and seamstress. All who knew and loved her will miss her. Wanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gaines A. Kinder; two sons, Michael Joe and Gaines Lawrence Kinder; three sisters, Ruby Taggart, Malinda Rector and June Jensen; and one brother, John A. Ulrich. Those left to honor her memory include her three daughters, Janice Rosenburg and husband Glen, of High Ridge, Mo., Anna Joyce Wiley, of Lenexa, Kans., and Kathryn Capps and husband Jimmy, of Versailles, Mo.; one son, Paul J. Kinder, of Birch Tree; one step-daughter, Carol Sue Weigel and husband John, of Grand Ledge, Mich.; grandchildren, James Capps, Angela Day, Amber Jewett, Anthony Asher, Jonathan and Megan Kinder; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dakota James King was born June 26, 2004, in West Plains, Missouri, the son of Ronnie and Tonie Elliott King. He passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the age of 2 years, 11 months, and 21 days. Dakota enjoyed spending his days playing with his older brother, Dalton, and visiting his Mema’s and Papa’s. Most of all, Dakota loved to ride the four-wheeler and play with his tractors. Nadine Fredrick was born August 15, 1923 at Carl Junction MO the daughter of Bert Fredrick and Leona Pauline (Bailey) Fredrick. She passed away March 12, 2008 at Birch Tree MO at the age of 84 years. She was united in marriage to John Clifford Hatton on December 27, 1940 at Webb City MO and to this union four sons were born. She later married Larry King on November 2, 1985 at Rodgers AR. She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Leona Fredrick; her two husbands John Clifford Hatton and Larry King; and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her four sons David Wayne Hatton and wife Margie of New Orleans LA, Dennis L. Hatton of Mountain View MO, Donald Dean Hatton and wife Sally of Willow Springs MO, and Kim 'Ken' Hatton and wife Connie of Rodgers AR; one brother Floyd Fredrick of MO; one sister Bonnie Polen of Joplin MO; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Nadine worked as a dietary technician in hospital cafeterias around the country before she retired in the early 1980's. One of her fond memories was when she and her husband Larry had dinner in Washington DC with then President Ronald Reagan. Nadine's fondest memory was the time she and Larry went on a cruise to the Caribbean Islands. She was active in the Mormon Church when she lived in Oklahoma. Nadine always enjoyed fixing meals for the elders and working with the members of the church. JACKIE DEAN KIRKMAN

Jackie Dean Kirkman son of Bert Kirkman and Violet (Huskey) Kirkman Caldwell, was born May 21, 1936 at Summersville, Mo., and passed away at the Lester E. Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Mo., on Wednesday evening February 18, 2004 making his age 67 years 8 months and 27 days. Jack graduated from Summersville High School in 1953. He served in the United States Military serving in the Army from Feb. 15, 1956 to Feb. 14, 1962. He would tell about his stay in Alaska and the friends he made there. He remained in touch with a good friend, Bill Hawkins; they always enjoyed talking about the Army days they spent together. Jack was united in marriage to Daisy Tuttle and to this union two children were born, Michael Edwain and Jacqueline Elaine. After Daisy's death, Jack married Jerilynn Spielman August 10, 1973 making their union together 30 years and to their union one son, Jason Bryan, was born. Jack worked on his farm and also operated a hay hauling business before ill health forced his retirement. Jack enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard or mowing hay. When a friend would stop to see Jack, he would insist that they pull up a lawn chair and sit with him in the yard. He was always happy visiting friends and family and watching basketball on TV. Firman F. Kirkpatrick, husband of Lillian Florence 'Lillie' Tate. He was a farmer and an engineer on the railroad until he was injured. Then he went to work for the water company (presumably in Birch Tree). He continued to own a farm near Birch Tree but hired someone to work it. He is a descendant of David W. And Margaret Jane Kirkpatrick of Washington County, Missouri. Father of Adolphus M., Cora L., Ethel M., Hattie Pearl, Daniel Arthur, Bertha E., Clara A. and Maggie Kirkpatrick. Buried at Berea-Mennonite Cemetery at Birch Tree.

James L. Kirton, husband of Martha Jane Rowe (daughter of George Washington Rowe & Mahala Hood, who are buried in the Rowe Family Cemetery in Howell County) died as the result of a hunting accident. He was the father of Lizzie Mahala (m. Roy Brown); Mary Prudence (m. William Lawton); Minnie Mae (m. Lewis Marshall Hines); Lula Bell; James Otis (m. Vida Pearl Sankey) & Jessie Mildred Kirton (m. MONTIE L. KIRTLEY

Montie L. Kirtley was born March 5, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo., departed this life February 8, 1982 at the age of 57 years and 11 months.  Services were at the Braun Funeral Home in Cahokia, Ill.  Interment at Jefferson barracks National Cemetery. Montie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1942 and served 38 months in Europe.  He was an employee of Anheuser Busch in industrial electricity and electronics.  He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local #1 of St. Louis, Emeth Lodge 1030 A.F. & A.M. of Cahokia, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern Ill., Ainad Shrine Temple of East St. Louis and V.F.W. Post 1699 of Cahokia. He is the beloved husband of Lorraine Kirtley (Nee Corbin), father of Michael L. Kirtley, grandfather of Matthew B. Kirtley, son-in-law of Dan and Lula Corbin of Eminence, Mo., brother-in-law of Alta Lee Woolf, Lora Crowley, Daniel Irb Corbin and the late John E. Corbin of Eminence, Mo. He will also be missed by a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Montie and Lorraine were married 36 years Jan. 19, 1982 and were members of United Methodist Church of Cahokia, Ill.  Lorraine was a 1941 graduate of Eminence High School. 

Gladys Wuanita (Williams) Kizer, 99 years- 9 months of age, of Birch Tree, MO, departed this life on September 27, 2016 at Mercy St Francis in Mountain View, MO. She was born on December 27, 1916 to JPC Williams and Louiza (Barnes) Williams in Winona, MO who preceded her in death. Gladys graduated from high school in Birch Tree, MO in 1936. She was united in marriage to Clifford Ray Kizer on April 24, 1937 in the state of Washington; who also preceded her in death in April of 1999. Gladys was preceded in death by eight sisters: Stella E. Herrod, Melva Moranski, Ethel A. Smotherman, Mary Leona Culp, Willie M. Culp, Bernice I. Tomlinson, Anne G. Willliams, Lillie M. Keyser, and one infant brother Edgar S. Williams and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by two sisters, Jewell E. Smotherman of Warrenton, OR and Viola L. Sykes of Kent, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys and Clifford resided in Oregon until retirement. They chose to come back to her original hometown of Birch Tree and built a new home in 1988. She was very active at the United Methodist Church in Birch Tree, MO. She loved music and enjoyed singing. Jimmie Rodgers was one of her favorite country stars. She loved western movies. Her hobbies included crocheting, camping, and traveling to see the world. She was from a large, loving family and will be dearly missed. A special thank you to Birch Tree Place and her wonderful caretakers. Interment at Oak Forest Cemetery.

Margaret Hibner passed away Monday afternoon at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington (St Francois Co) MO at the age of 85 years and 8 days. Margaret was the daughter of the late Charley and Mary Koogler Hibner and was born May 30, 1913 in Carter Co MO. She married Claude Leland Klepzig 13 Jul 1935. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Leland Klepzig (27 Sep 1994); 4 sisters, Desa Klepzig, Ada Klepzig, Emma Kile, Bertha Cathcard; 3 brothers, Lyman Hibner, Raymond Hibner and Buter Hibner. Survivors include 1 daughter, Shirley, and husband Bill Sutherland, 1 son, Howard, and wife Mary Ann Klepzig, 2 sisters, Ruth Klepzig of Neelyville MO, and Juanita Pettit and husband Dean of House Springs MO; 6 grandchildren, Kelly White of St Louis MO, Keith and Brad Fray of Farmington, Sherri, Terri and Andrea Klepzig of Farmington MO; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret was a member of the Farmington First Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held Thursday and 11 a.m. on 11 Jun 1998 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. William C. Miller officiating, assisted by Rev. Glen Cowen. Paul Dwain Klepzig was born Oct. 17, 1930, in Shannon County, to late Floyd & Dess Klepzig, departed this life, Jan. 10, 1988 at Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis, TN.  He was preceded by his father and mother, two sisters Peggy Ann, and Marilyn Sue, and one brother Jackie Dale Klepzig.  He is survived by his lovely wife Martha (Harris) Klepzig, three daughters Peggy Louise Klepzig of Jackson, MS, Teresa (Klepzig) Hollowell, of Oxford, MS, Paula Deniese Klepzig of home, and three brothers Glen, Ivan, and Floyd Jr. of Abbeville, MS.  His family moved to State of Mississippi about 1940 or 1941.  He leaves several relatives in Missouri, also friends to mourn his passing.  He became a Christian at an early age, and lived a just life to the end.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Abbeyville and also was a truck driver.  His family and friends, Church and community will miss a good faithful friend.  Funeral services were held Wednesday Jan. 11, at 2 pm at Abbeyville, First Baptist Church by his Pastor, Rand Bain.  Arrangements by Waller Funeral Home of Oxford, burial was in Abbeyville Cemetery. Memorials were made to First Baptist Church of Abbeyville or American Cancer Society.

CHARLES EDWARD KNIGHT

Charles Edward Knight, of Cedar Run, New Jersey was born January 6, 1933 at West Eminence, Mo. to James Madison and Celia Lucille (Britton) Knight. As a result of an apparent heart failure, he departed this life at approximately 2 p.m. April 7, 2004 at his rented house in West Eminence, less than a mile from his place of birth. He was 71 years old, and on the third day of an extended visit back to his Ozark roots. He was preceded in death (by less than two years) his wife, Anna Mae (Rostien) Knight; his oldest brother, Britton Kilgore Knight; by both parents, James Madison Knight and Celia Lucille (Britton) Knight, by his paternal grandparents Charles Edward Knight and Malinda Kathryn (Graham) Knight, and by his maternal grandparents Carl Grant Britton and Mary (Farmer) Britton. His marriage to Anna Mae Rostien in 1956 resulted in three children, sons Terrence and Kenneth ("Jack"), both of Cedar Run; and daughter Patricia (Knight) Cranmer of Waretown, New Jersey. He is survived locally by his three children, their respective spouses and his grandchildren, who are Scott, Nichole, Kelly, Troy, and Alexis, and many other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind three brothers and a sister, who are James Graham Knight of Cato, New York; Marlin Randall Knight and Franklin Elbert Knight, both of Eminence; and Marilyn Sue (Knight) Hanson of Joplin, Mo. Memorial services were held at the Cedar Run Assembly of God in New Jersey on April 18, 2004. Ed worked as a carpenter all his life, in later years moving into upper management positions in commercial construction. His union affiliation began at age 18, with four years of military service in the United States Navy counting towards a total of 53 years membership with Carpenters Local Union #1489, Burlington Country, New Jersey. His membership was non-active from his retirement at age 62 until the day of his death. Other personal enterprises include a term as Mayor of Stafford Township, New Jersey in 1972. He also served as a Township Committee Member for three years. He later won a second term as Mayor. Eddie, as he was known, while growing up in Shannon County Missouri, will be remembered by those who knew him as hardworking, honest and amiable, but also fiercely loyal to his friends and passionate in his convictions.

James Graham Knight was born October 5, 1928, in West Eminence, Missouri, to James and Celia (Britton) Knight. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 11, 2008 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He died at his daughter's home in Cato, New York, where he and his wife have resided for the last 7 years, having formerly resided at Mackinaw, Illinois. Jim retired in 1990 after a 42-year career at Caterpillar Inc. A member and former committeeman in the local UAW 974, he last worked as a Benchman in the Mossville Technical Center. An avid beekeeper for over 30 years, he was known in both East Peoria and Mossville facilities as the 'honey man'. He often shared his interest in beekeeping by giving presentations to area grade school students. Having established many bluebird trails in the Deer Creek-Mackinaw and Eminence, Mo., areas, he was an ardent outdoorsman who regarded chopping and splitting firewood as exercise. As a young man, he liked to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed reading and working in his vegetable garden. He loved to read and study the Bible and was an Adult Bible teacher for 40 years. He was a member of the New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw from 1977 to 2001. He later joined the Cato Christian Fellowship Church after moving to Cato for health reasons. Jim's family will remember him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Others will remember him as a good friend and teacher. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Delores (High) Knight; his daughter Gaylon Sue (Joseph) Medley of Cato, NY, and his son, Jess Madison (Tamara) Knight of Washington, IL; his sister, Marilyn Hanson of Joplin, MO, and his brothers, Marlin (Shareen) and Frank (Katy) Knight, both of Eminence, MO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lori (Sam) Carnicelli and Cathy Medley, both of Cato, NY, Michael (Eileen) Medley of Durhamville, NY, Matthew (Tammy) Knight and Joshua (Meghan) Knight, both of Washington, IL, and Erin Knight of Peoria Heights, IL; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Britton and Charles Edward Knight. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, at the New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw with funeral services to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the church. The Rev. Phil Somers will officiate. Additional visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in the New Castle Cemetery in Mackinaw. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting with arrangements. Lenora Irene Conner was born December 9, 1920 at Fremont, MO.  The daughter of Dorothy Conner and departed this life on January 2, 1989 at Birch View Nursing Center in Birch Tree, MO at the age of 68 years. She was united in marriage to Charles Wallace Knight on November 12, 1936 and to this union nine children were born.  Later in life she was united with Elmer Sutherland for eighteen years.  To this union there were two step-children; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four children; one grandchild; and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Cora Blair of Carterville, MO; Donald Knight of Cottonwood, Arizona; Irene Jones of Sarcoxie, MO; Leroy Knight and Ruth Thornburg, both of Carthage, MO; two daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; two step-children, Eulah Grimes of Cherokee Village, AR; and Mildred Johnson of Clinton, MO; twenty-three grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; four brothers, Gene Hollis of St. Joseph, MO; Cleo Hollis of Dunnellon, Florida; Billy Hollis of Thayer, MO; and Buck Hollis of Pittsburgh, MO; five sisters, June Edwards of Alton, MO; Reva Watson, Ruby Tucker, Sadie Benningfield, and Noretta Bellamy, all of the state of Texas. Lenora had a very deep and abiding love of God and her fellowman.  She will be sadly missed by her friends and family. Aaron Andrew Knowlen, the son of Janet Harder Hackworth, was born Nov. 13, 1978, at Mountain View, Mo. He departed this life on Oct. 10, 2007, at the age of 28 years, 10 months and 27 days. Aaron was a 1998 graduate of Liberty High School. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Noel James Harder and his stepfather, Norman Thompson. Aaron is survived by his beloved daughter, Emma Jean Knowlen and her mother, Cambra Brotherton of West Plains, Mo.; his mother, Janet Hackworth and nephew Trenton Knowlen of the home in West Plains, Mo.; two brothers, Noell James Knowlen of Austin, Texas, and Aric Gregory Sanders of Jacksonville, Fla.; his grandmother, Ruth Jean Harder of Birch Tree, Mo.; one uncle, Wade Harder of Alton, Mo.; two aunts, Glenda Crider and husband Danny and Judy Turner all of Birch Tree, Mo.; his nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart; and a host of cousins and other family and friends. Aaron greatly enjoyed spending time with his daughter, hunting, fishing, and listening to music. Of all of the activities that Aaron took part in, the one that brought him the most joy was spending time with his daughter Emma, the light of his life. He will be greatly missed. Bobby Dale Knuckles was born November 7, 1932 at Eminence, MO, the son of Sterling Price Knuckles and Florence Ethel Sconce Knuckles. He passed away December 13, 2006 at the Festus Manor in Festus, MO at the age of 74 years. He was united in marriage to Pauline 'Polly' Hollis, and to this union were born two sons, Robin and Ronnie, and three daughters, Sherrell, Lori, and Lisa. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife, Polly; one daughter, Lori; four brothers, Johnnie, Ray, Walter, and Milo Knuckles; and three sisters, Pauline Black Allison, Wilma Tucker, and Bernice Simpson. He is survived by two sons, Robin Knuckles of Memphis, TN and Ronnie Knuckles of Arlington, WA; two daughters, Sherrell Zipprick of Edwardsville, IL and Lisa Knuckles of Glen Carbon, IL; three brothers, Don, Marvin, and George Knuckles; two sisters, Genevieve Clark and Virginia Sutton; his grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Bobby graduated from Eminence High School and moved to the Granite City, IL area, where he met and married his wife, Pauline 'Polly' Hollis. They made their home there, raising their five children. Bobby’s hobbies and interest were in his family. He pursued a career with General Motors Corporation, where he worked until he retired. Bobby was a member of the City Temple Church in Granite City, IL. Funeral Services were held Monday, December 18, 2006 at the Eminence First Baptist Church with Bro. Alan Stringer officiating. Interment was in the Knuckles Family Cemetery near Ellington, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence, MO. She departed this life June 27, 2011 at her home in West Plains, MO at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Raymond Bowen in 1941 and to this union one son was born, James. Hazel later married Milo Price Knuckles on April 8, 1959 in St. Louis, MO and to this union two daughters were born Sandra Pauline and Cynthia Sue. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Alma Pogue; her husband Milo Knuckles; one son James Arthur Bowen; two brothers David and Calvin Pogue and one sister Maxine Camden. She is survived by two daughters Sandra Pauline Neal and husband John of Columbia, MO and Cynthia Sue Knuckles and Kevin Puckett of West Plains, MO; one daughter in law Joanne Bowen of Celina, OH; five grandchildren Jason Buford of Kansas City, MO; Trevor Buford and wife Anneke of Columbia, MO, Charles Neal of Columbia, MO, Kimberly Adams and husband Michael of Celina, OH and Kristin Huelsmann and husband Mark of Celina, OH; two great grandchildren Brayton and Brecken Adams of Celina, OH; and a host of other family and friends. Hazel was baptized in 1967 in the General Baptist Church in Granite City, IL. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, quilting and loved her flowers. Hazel attended Bethany Chapel on Little Shawnee for many years. She was a loving mother who had a strong faith in God and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Milo Price Knuckles was born at Owl's Bend MO on August 2, 1918, the son of Sterling Price and Florence SCONCE KNUCKLES. He passed away on November 20, 1998 at the Veteran's Hospital in Columbia MO at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 18 days. Milo is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ray, Walter and Johnny KNUCKLES; sister Wilma Lee TUCKER; and stepson James BOWEN. He is survived by his wife, Hazel, of the home; daughters Sandra NEAL, Columbia MO, and Cynthia KNUCKLES, Cabool MO; four brothers, Donald KNUCKLES, DeSoto MO; Marvin KNUCKLES, Poplar Bluff MO; George KNUCKLES, Springfield MO, and Bob KNUCKLES, Granite City IL; four sisters, Pauline ALLISON, Arnold MO; Bernice SIMPSON, Winona MO; Genevieve CLARK, Farmington MO, and Virginia SUTTON, Salem MO; three grandsons, two step-granddaughters, and one step great- grandson. Milo enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was baptized in 1967 at the General Baptist Church in Granite City IL. He was also a member of the American Legion. He served four years in the Army during WWII. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. On Monday, November 23, 1998 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Eminence MO with Rev. Alan STRINGER officiating. Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home.

Olive Wilson was born April 24, 1915 in Reynolds County, Missouri, the daughter of Riley Lenoa and Cordelia Johnson Wilson and departed this life on May 11, 1986 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 71 years. She was married to Walter Dow Knuckles on April 25, 1936 at Winona, Missouri and to this union seven children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Dow Knuckles in 1957; and one son, Wilbur Douglas Knuckles; and one brother, Clyde Wilson in 1959. She is survived by one son, Willard Knuckles of House Springs, Mo.; and five daughters, Beverly Knuckles of St. Louis, Mo.; Bonnie Russell, Patsy Weaver and Peggy Smith, all of Eminence, Mo.; Janet Hunt of Branson, Mo.; two brothers, Paul Wilson of the state of Colorado; and Riley Wilson of the state of Wyoming; five sisters, Gladys Scott of St. Louis, Mo.; Marie Pogue of Ellington, Mo.; Melba Pogue of Redford, Mo.; Eva Knuckles and Neva Bolton, both of the state of Colorado; and thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Former Resident Dies in Wyoming. 

Funeral services for O.C. (Slim) Knudsen of Alcova WY, formerly of Dodge City KS, will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Belpre Cemetery, Belpre KS. Elder Gariss Fleetwood and Elder Max McCullough will conduct the rites. The Hulpieu-Swaim Funeral Home is in charge.  Mr. Knudsen died Friday at Alcova. He was born April 19, 1889, in Concordia KS. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Lars Knudsen. As a young man he worked on farms in Kansas and Missouri. He married Miss Clara Duncan August 29, 1915, in Shannon Co MO. They moved to a farm near Belpre and lived there until moving to Dodge City in 1924. Mr. Knudsen worked as a mechanic in several shops here. The Knudsens moved to Colorado in 1952 and the following year to Casper WY. Mr. Knudsen was water commissioner for Evansville WY, a Casper suburb. Two years ago he became caretaker for the Casper Boat Club at Alcova and was also a deputy sheriff. Survivors are the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Darrell Hendricks, local resident; Mrs. Raymond Cline of Holly, Colo., Mrs. John Isern of Orange CA, and Mrs. George Grasse of Casper WY; two sons, Theodore H. and Dean, both of Casper, 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. One sister and four brothers.

~  Ollie Knudsen, Boat Club Caretaker, Dies - A heart attack at his home near Alcova Lake took the life of Caretaker Ollie G. Knudsen, 69, about 3 p.m. yesterday. Mr. Knudsen had been caretaker at the lake for the past two seasons and was special deputy sheriff to keep the shoreline policed during the summer.  Born April 19, 1889, at Concordia KS, he was reared and attended school there. He was married to Clara Duncan, who was with him at the time of his death, in Shannon Co MO, Aug. 29, 1915. They returned to Kansas, where they made their home for many years. In 1953, they moved to Casper, where he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Surviving besides his wife are four daughters, Mrs. Clarice Hendricks, Dodge City KS, Mrs. Ray Cline, Holly CO, Mrs. Lucile Isern, Orange CA; Mrs. George Grosso, Casper WY; two sons, Theodore H. and Dean Knudsen, both of Casper; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five brothers and a sister.  Funeral services will be held at the Bustard Funeral Home at 10 a.m. today with services conducted by the first branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The remains will be forwarded to Dodge City for burial in the cemetery at nearby Belpre KS.

Anna Mae Koehler was born May 23, 1915 in Murray, KY, the daughter of John Cain and Gertrude (Johnson) Cain. She passed away March 22, 2011 at her home in Eminence, MO at the age of 95 years. She was united in marriage to Fred L. Koehler on December 24, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, and to this union two children were born. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude Cain; one brother, John Cain, and one granddaughter, Gretchen Byrne. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Heil and husband, Michael, of Franklin, TN and Bette Byrne and husband, Bill, of Eminence, MO; one sister, Evelyn Kesterson of Louisville, KY; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Anna Mae loved to play games, dig in her flower gardens, sew anything and everything, and cook up meals to feed from one to twenty people. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was the highlight of her days. Funeral services were held Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Eminence, MO with Pastor David Fowler officiating. Vivian Fay LANHAM Koller

Vivian Fay Lanham, the daughter of Fred Lanham and Daisy Randall Lanham, was born in Venice, Illinois, September 2, 1936 and passed away at Fredericktown, MO, Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Madison Medical Center, at age 69. Vivian was united in marriage to Charles David Koller, August 23, 1952 making their union together 54 years and three days. She worked as an inspector for in the Aerospace Field and was a member of the Production Workers Lodge No. 1345, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. As a young child, she attended a Baptist Church. She and Charles attended church in Granite City, Illinois. Preceding Vivian in death are her parents, Fred and Doris; two sisters, Doris Stevens and Zelma Nelson. She is survived by her husband, Charles Koller, of Madison, Illinois; three sons, Fred Koller and wife, Marsha, of Walshville, Illinois; Keith Koller and wife, Diane, of Okawville, Illinois; and Bryan Koller of Madison, Illinois; two sisters, Freda Davis and Emily Bone, both of Poplar Bluff, MO; one brother, William Lanham, of Clearwater, FL; 11 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Vivian also had many friends who mourn her passing. Services were held Tuesday, August 29, at 2:00 PM at Bradford Funeral Home in Summersville with Rev. George Smith officiating. Interment was in Summersville City Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

GUY  KOOGLER

Guy Koogler, son of the late David and Sarah Ann (Stogstill) Koogler, was born at Ellington, Missouri on September 27, 1901.  God called him home July 10, 1984 at the University of Missouri Medical Center at Columbia, Mo.  He was married to Alma Durham January 22, 1930.  Surviving are his wife, Alma; one son, Dwayne; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Koogler, all of Van Buren; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends to mourn his passing. He went to St. Louis in the late 20's and worked for the Independent Packing Company until about 1947.  He and his wife, Alma bought a farm near Van Buren and lived there until he retired.  He was a great husband, father, uncle, neighbor and friend; he was loved by all who knew him. He was of the Methodist faith.  He was the last one of 11 children. Words cannot express the sympathy we extend to his family and loved ones in their loss. We pray God's comforting hands bring them strength and courage to sustain them in their grief.  He will be sadly missed by those who knew him. There were a lot of relatives and friends from out of town attending the funeral.  The funeral was held July 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the McSpadden Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ron Brisson officiating.  He was laid to rest in Poca Hollow Cemetery between Fremont and Van Buren. By one who loved him dearly.

Shirley Jean Chilton Korte

Shirley Jean Korte, 77, of Pilot Grove, MO, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove. She was born November 25, 1931 in West Eminence, MO to Ishmal and Hazel Jones Chilton. She was married January 25, 1951 in Boonville, MO to Roger Korte, who survives of the home. She graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall with a Masters Degree in Education. Mrs. Korte is survived by her husband of the home. One daughter, Nancy Twenter and husband, Roger, Jr.; one son, David Korte and wife, Carolyn, all of Pilot Grove. Five grandchildren; Scotty, Simone and Sarah Twenter and Melissa and Kristina Korte. Four great grandchildren; Reese, Kayley and Lindy Twenter and Bradley Schilb. One sister, Barbara Bressler and two brothers, Jim Chilton and Jerry Chilton, all of Eminence, MO. She was preceded in death by one son, Jackie Korte; one grandson, Calvin Korte; and one brother, Bill Chilton. Shirley taught in a one-room school in West Eminence, MO and Miami school north of Marshall, before coming to Pilot Grove to teach for 27 years. She retired in 1992, after a total of 42 years of teaching. Services for Mrs. Korte was at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove, with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville. Visitation was after 3 PM Friday, November 6 at the funeral home. Memorials to the Shirley Korte Memorial Fund.

Paul Edmond Kramer was born January 9, 1951 in Morgan City, Louisiana, to Roy Joseph KRAMER, Sr. and Oval Eve KNIGHT. He passed away October 3, 1997 at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri at the age of 46 years. Paul was united in marriage to Willa Jo SPENCER on May 5, 1978 in Eminence, Missouri, and from this union one child was born, Eric Ross KRAMER. Paul is survived by his wife Willa Birch Tree, MO, his son Eric of Birch Tree, MO, his parents Roy and Oval Kramer of Kramer, LA, two brothers, Roy Joseph KRAMER, Jr. of Birch Tree, MO, David Louis KRAMER of Sugarland, TX, two sisters Rosetta Marie KRAMER of Houma, LA and Virginia Ann STEIN ANDERSON of Ciyo, GA. Funeral services were held Monday, October 6, 1997 at 10 am at the First Baptist Church of Birch Tree, MO with Rev. John BIRKHEAD officiating. Interment will be in the Old Forrest Cemetery in Birch Tree, MO.

ROY JOSEPH KRAMER, JR.

Roy Joseph Kramer, Jr., was born January 10, 1947 at Morgan City, La., the son of Roy Joseph Kramer, Sr. and Oval (Knight) Kramer and passed away July 29, 2007 at Church Point, La. at the age of 60 years. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Paul Kramer. He is survived by his son Roy Joseph Kramer, III of Winona, Mo.; his mother Oval Kramer of Channelview, Tex.; one brother David Kramer and wife Sherry of Channelview, Tex.; two sisters Rosetta Kramer of Church Point, La. and Virginia Anderson and husband Tom of Branson, Mo. and a host of other family and friends. Roy was born and lived in Louisiana before moving here with his family in 1963 and graduated from high school in Birch Tree, Mo. Roy went to work on ocean going tug boats after high school. He was a Captain at the time he became disabled in 1996. Roy lived in the Birch Tree area until he moved to Louisiana in 1999. Roy loved horses. He raised Appaloosa and Paint Horses. He enjoyed barrel racing and pole bending. Roy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services were held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Birch Tree, Mo. with Rev. Forrest Goodman officiating. Interment was in the Oak Forest Cemetery at Birch Tree, Mo. under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Birch Tree.

Glenda Howdershell was born Jun. 20, 1940 at Cherryville Crawford Co MO, and died Dec. 17, 2001, at West Plains, Howell Co MO. She was the daughter of Horace Bryan HOWDERSHELL and Ida Mae GOAD. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph KRIST; two brothers and three sisters. Glenda is survived by three sons, Lowell LAKE, Gary LAKE and Jack FISK; two daughters, Linda J. KRIST and Louise FISK, two grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte MASSEY and Marcella COPELAND. She was interred at Mount Zion Cemetery, Winona Shannon Co MO.
