FARMER, JUMP posted by Janae L Spencer on Saturday, October 3, 1998

I am searching for Henry S. FARMER -Leanna E.S. JUMP family. I believe they were born in late 1860's or early 1870's. I do not know if they were born in Polk Co. But they had children there and also they are buried in a cemetary in Polk Co or Bolivar. They had 3 daughters, May, the oldest. Artie Tennessee FARMER, born march 4, 1895 They also had a daughter named Ida or Ide. Possibly a son named Lathe?. I have heard that Leanna JUMP may have been 13 years old when she married Henry. Also, Henry was very good friends with an undertaker and when he died there was not enough money in the family to bury him. The undertaker told the family not to worry about it that he would cover it and then make it up on the next. Thelma, Artie's daughter, who is now 85 years old thinks Henry and Leanna, her Grandparents may have died in the 1910's.

He was buried in the Roundtree Cemetery in Hickory County. Unfortunately, I don't have a name for the undertakers but am hoping perhaps the Pitts Funeral Home records would go back that far. GATLIN posted by Lisa Rothwell on Saturday, October 24, 1998

I have been searching for several years for a long lost family of mine; my g-g-grandfather, James F. GATLIN, was born in Bolivar, Polk Co., MO in July 1858. At some point, he relocated to Scott County, AR, and married, Emma M. Bartholomew of AR, and had 4 children. (I located them on the 1900 US Census, AR) I have diligently searched Arkansas records and always reach a "dead end". So, I have decided to start at his beginning. Unfortunately, the information I have on him is what I have given you. There is a sad story behind this man's daughter, my g-grandmother, and I am researching this family as much for my grandmother (James' granddaughter) as I am for myself. Any help you can provide me as to where I may begin, with such little information on James, would mean more than words can express. I would at least like some of his basic information, such as a specific date of birth, his parents' names, etc. Thank You for your attention and time,

SEAMSTER posted by Susan Black on Saturday, October 24, 1998

My name is Susan Black. I am researching the SEAMSTER family line of our family. Unfortunately, due to the fire destroying the 1890 census, I am unable to get a good line on my great-grandfather Dr. Lee Seamster. According to my grandmother, his parents were Stephen S SEAMSTER and Manerva. I have information about several other of their children were born in Polk county, including the last child of record, Poet Ann Seamster, born 1879. However, Lee's name is not mentioned. If he was born after the 1880 census, then there might not be anything I can do to prove his lineage. Can you help me or tell me who to contact for help? This is the family history that I have clear supporting documents. Stephen Sallee SEAMSTER born 17 Jan 1842 Barry,MO married Manerva born 1845 Ill Children: Mary A SEAMSTER born 1867 POLK CO,MO Marinda E SEAMSTER born 1870 Polk Co.,MO William SEAMSTER born 1873 POLK CO,MO Susan E SEAMSTER born 1876 POLK CO,MO Poet Ann SEAMSTER born 1879 Polk Co.,MO How can I find if Lee SEAMSTER was born in Polk County? It is possible that he is William and he went by a middle name of Lee, but that is pure speculation. Thank You, Susan E. Black
