HAGENMAN, MCMEHEN, RICE posted by Dan L. Rice on Tuesday, January 13, 1998

Jonathin RICE was an early settler of the Jackson township as reported in the centennial address in Bolivar, July 4, 1876. I believe he was married to Isabella C. Rice who was a Missouri pensioner in 1879 in Orleans. I can not find confirmation of the marriage. I believe Isabella is the mother of Boone C. Rice who was born in Polk county Missouri in 1844. In 1863 he fought in the civil war and was discharged from Springfield in 1865. He was later married to Barbary A. Rice, December 5, 1880 by Frank HAGENMAN J.P., in Polk County. Barbary A. Rice maiden name was MCMEHEN. Boone and Barbary lived in polk county till 1892 and settled on property in the Oklahoma land run. This property was located outside Elk City, Oklahoma in Beckam county. Jonathin and Isabella would be my great, great, grandparents and Boone and Barbary were my great grandparents.I am looking for any and all information on the Rice's of Polk county that could confirm the marriage of Jonathin and Isabella.

DUNGAN, STEWART posted by William S. Dungan on Monday, January 26, 1998

My granddads name was Dewey Meloy DUNGAN, born in Humansville Jan. 26, 1899. At the age of 5 yrs. he went to a foster family, William and Mary STEWART. He took that name and kept it until he got married. My dad says he had many brothers and sisters, but, did not keep in contact with any as they were also given to other families. He has no birth certificate. I have someone looking at census records right now, but, have as yet heard nothing. The one name that seems to be common in that area is Dunnegan. If anyone could find anything with my last name it would be appreciated. William S. Dungan 2042 S. 333rd St. Federal Way, WA 98003-6829
