Can anyone in either Dallas or Polk County furnish me information as to identity of my great grandfather. My great grandmother, Mary Delilah BARCLAY, daughter of Durrett Hubbard BARCLAY and Lucretia DAVIDSON, gave birth to my grandfather, David BARCLAY, on September 26, 1859 at St. Joseph, MO. She had been living in either Dallas or Polk County before his birth. Family history indicates just prior to the Civil War she had been dating an older man (father of my grandfather) and her family did not want her to marry him. He reportedly fought in the Civil War and never returned as far as we know. His last name may have been CARUTHERS (several ways to spell name). Mary Delilah later married John BRESHEARS of Dallas County. My grandfather, David BARCLAY, married Louisa Jane WOLLARD at Buffalo, MO on April 5, 1891.

William had several brothers who also settled in Pottawatomie (Pott) County, OK. - - Their mother's name was BARLOW. Lydia Margaret died when Saphronia was 3 years old. I am looking for any information about Jesse BALLEW and William MONTGOMERY. According to my family records, Jesse's daughter Nancy BALLEW married William MONTGOMERY, but I don't know when. Their first child, Elizabeth was born in 1818 before they left North Carolina. The specific information that I am looking for is: Where in NC did Jesse and William come from? What was Jesse's wifes name, and did they have any other children besides Nancy? I would also like more information about what they did after they arrived in the Laclede area. Thanks for your help!

RAGSDALE, Clarence or Lawrence Royal Are these the same person? One or the other of them was my grandfather Edgar E. Ragsdale's father. I need to know which was his father, and that persons parents if anyone knows. His mother was Lydia SLENTZ and I think they were all from the Hurley area. What I have so far would indicate Clarence was Edgar's father, and Lawrence his Grandfather or maybe uncle or cousin.

Seeking information on HAYS and AGEE. I know some are buried in the Akard cemetary in Fair Play. My Grandparents were James Arthur Garfield Hays and my Grandmother was Elsie Lettie Agee. They lived in the Union Point Area about 39 years ago. They then lived in Fair Play across form the Sale Barn. Any information on the Hays would really be appreciated; we do know that there is a book written on the Agee family. However, it deals with other parts of the family more than it does mine.
