I am working on several families in the Polk County, MO. The HOOK and BARNES Families came to Polk County in the 1850s. Andrew Lester HOOK, son of Robert Ransom HOOK, married Mary Jane BARNES on 5 Jul 1863. Mary Jane was the daughter of Rueben BARNES and Barbara Ann LUNCEFORD/LUNSFORD. Andrew and Mary Jane left Polk County and moved to Texas in the 1870s. Also I would be grateful for any information on a Bette Elizabeth CATES. I know that she was born in Salem, MO 23 Mar 1865. I know that she had a brother named Joel. Bette married Roland R. FINLEY in the 1870s. They also moved to Texas."

Walter SPENCER, Sr., his wife Elizabeth, amd their son Walter, Jr who came to Marion Township, Polk County c. 1843. They came from Fulton County, Illinois. 2. Walter Spencer, Jr. married Mary Ann SHACKLEFORD c. 1859. 3. James Hufford and Martha (SPENCER) HUFFORD were married in Illinois. They were in the 1850 census of Polk. 4. Jacob Spencer married Narcissa LESSLEY. They were married in Polk in 1848. 5. William R. SPENCER, son of Elizabeth and step-son of Walter. I am interested in the children of Henry and Sarah COOK SIMPSON. They were residents of Polk County during the 1860s. Henry was supposedly killed for his CSA association in about 1864. I can find little on Sarah and the children after this date. Can anyone help?

Joseph Edward CAMPBELL is supposed to have lived in Fair Play all his life, however I have yet to find him. He was b circa 1833, m Jemima Jane RAY in 1859. Although I have tracked down several of their children, I have never found Joseph. He is supposed to have been an officer in the Union Army. Six children were born beginning with Josephine in 1860 in MO. Twins are in every generation in the family. Father was James Elie who m married - probably KY. Can anyone help me?

Researching Jesse HAWKINS (born about 1807 in KY) and his wife Nancy HOGG Beane (born 1811, Barren County, KY) and their descendants. Married 4 Aug 1836 in Barren Co, KY. Moved to Polk County about 1846/47. Their children were Isham (or Isom) Hawkins (b 1837); Ozias Hawkins (b 1840); Joseph Hawkins (b 1842); Rachael Hawkins (b 1845); Naomi Hawkins (b 1848); and Elizabeth Hawkins (b 1852). Nancy had children by her first husband: Thomas, Mary, Jacob and Reuben BEANE. Jesse HAWKINS died in Polk County in 1859. Their HAWKINS sons (Joseph, Ozias and Isham) served in the Civil War. Would like to identify all descendants of this couple and verify parentage of Jesse Hawkins.
