Death of Mrs. DeHaven
One of Nevada's Most Prominent Club Women Called to the Great Beyond.
Mrs. A. [lbert] S. DeHaven died Thursday afternoon at 5 o'clock at her home in this city, of tuberculosis of the stomach, aged 61 years.
While Mrs. DeHaven's condition has been critical for some time, yet the sad news of her death comes as a shock to her many friends who, until the very end, hoped that the Grim Reaper might spare her for them.
Mr. and Mrs. DeHaven moved to Nevada about three years ago and since that time she has been a prominent worker in women's educational and improvement clubs in which she has held several offices.
She stood for all that was good, true and honest and uplifting in her own life and by her example and work sought to aid and influence for the better all with whom she came in contact.
Her mentality was above the average and her clear grasp of questions political or humane made her a natural leader in the work of which she was so fond.
In her death Nevada loses one of [its] best women and those who knew her a friend on whom they could at all times rely and seek in trouble or sorrow.
The body will be taken tonight to Hopkins, Mo., where funeral services will be held tomorrow and where interment will be made. No services will be held here.

Wright De Haven Dead.
Wright De Haven, formerly of St. Joseph, died at Nevada, Mo., Wednesday as a result of having swallowed a quantity of a poisonous drug which he is said to have taken by mistake.
De Haven who was thirty-nine years old, had been taking medicine and is said to have poured out some of the contents of a bottle containing poison and swallowed it before the error was discovered. Death ensued half an hour later.
Wright De Haven was a son of A. [lbert] S. De Haven, for many years a clerk for the Sampson Dry Goods Company and the family lived in Wyatt Park. His father was prominent in lodge circles and his mother, Mrs. Sue De Haven, who died since they removed to Nevada about five years ago, was a leader in several woman's clubs.
Young De Haven was a vaudeville actor and appeared in houses on smaller circuits.
At the time of his death he had an interest in a small theater in Nevada where he was known professionally as "Ben Fagan." The poison was in a bottle of horse medicine, which had been left in the theater where De Haven kept medicine for a cold.
The body, accompanied by the father, passed through St. Joseph today on the way to Hopkins, Mo., where it will be buried. – St. Joe News Press.

Suicide at Maryville
Albert Wray, of Maryville, Mo., brother of Mrs. Irving Lock of this city, committed suicide at his home Friday. Mrs. Lock was called to Maryville Friday by the sad intelligence. The Creston American on Saturday had the following particulars in regard to the tragedy:
Albert Wray of Maryville, Mo. was found yesterday morning in a barn three blocks from the square, dead. When found Mr. Wray had a rope around his neck which was suspended from a beacon in the barn while his feet were touching the floor.
The cause of Mr. Wray's suicide is not known. His accounts were found, upon examination, to be alright. He was in debt considerably around the city and had been drinking hard of late, but whether this was the cause of his committing suicide or not is not known.
He went to a livery barn about 11 o'clock Thursday night and hired a team saying he was going to his father's at Pickering, but he returned about midnight without going to Pickering. He was thirty-five years of age and leaves a wife and one child, a girl.
