        1.  John J2 Smith  (Emory1) was born 05 May 1848 in Indianapolis Indiana, and died 04 Nov 1921 in Wray Yuma Colorado.  He married Ann Elisa Glaze 09 Jan 1870 in Nodaway County Missouri.  She was born 15 Sep 1848 in Carroll County Missouri, and died 02 Sep 1932 in Wray Yuma Colorado.

Appears in the 1850 census of Switzerland County Indiana and the 1856 census in Iowa. The 1850 census shows him born in Iowa, the 1856 census shows him born in Indiana.

"John Smith and Boone Bagley returned from Missouri last Saturday. They wittnessed the terrific hailstones which visited Nodaway County and report hailstones as big as baseballs. Horses were killed in several instances."

John J Smith one of the pioneers of this community passed away at this home in this city last Friday November 4. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Reverend Lucas pastor of the M. E Church, and burial was made in the Grandview Cemetery Wray. He was born at Indianapolis Indiana May 5 1848. When a young man he moved to Nodaway County Missouri, where he resided for a number of years. In 1870 he was married to Miss Ann Glaze. To this union 6 children were born, Martin E of Wray, Mary D Lippincott of Mansfield Washington, Robert E died in infancy, Clark D of Wray, Cora A Robbins of Denver, and William J of Wray. He came to Colorado in 1888 settling on a homestead out near the C12 Ranch. He resided on this same farm from 1888 until 5 years ago when wih his family he moved to Wray. He became a member of the Methodist Church about 40 years ago. He led an honest upright life, and numbered his friends by the legion. Some weeks ago Mr Smith decided to visit old friends and relatives in Missouri and Arkansas. He started on his eastward, but became critically ill when he arrived at Troy Kansas. He was brought home but continued to fail until the end.

Mrs Ann E Smith one of the pioneer residents of this community and a highly respected citizen died at her home in west Wray Friday morning following an illness o f several weeks. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest in the Grandview Cemetery. Ann E Glaze was born in Carol County Missouri September 15 1948 and died at Wray Colorado September 2 1932 age 83 years 11 months and 17 days. She married John J Smith on January 9 1870 at Skidmore Missouri and to this union 6 children were born, one preceeding her in death. 3 sons, six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren being left to mourn her departure.  The children are Mrs Mollie Lippincott of Klamath Falls Oregon, Mrs Cora Rice of Denver, Clark D, William J, and Martin E of Wray. With her family Mrs Smith moved from Skidmore to Smith Center Kansas in 1885 and in 1888 came to Wray Colorado in which place she has lived until her death. Mr Smith preceeded her in death on Nov 4 1921

        4               iii.    Cora Ann Smith, born 20 Jul 1884 in Skidmore Missouri; died 06 Apr 1961 in Wray Yuma Colorado.  She married (1) Edward E Robbins Bef. 1921.  She married (2) George Rice 1922.

        5               iv.    John W Smith, born 21 Apr 1894; died 12 Aug 1960 in Wray Yuma Colorado.  He married Winifred Burns.

        3.  Clark Dale3 Smith (John J2, Emory1) was born 15 Apr 1881 in Nodaway Co Missouri, and died 1967 in Wray Yuma Colorado.  He married (1) Emma Donovan 1905.    He married (2) Mary Belle Wallcup 08 Nov 1911.  She was born in Illinois.

       

Children of Clark Smith and Emma Donovan are:

        8                 i.    Raymond Clark4 Smith, born 07 Aug 1906 in Wray Yuma Colorado; died 29 Oct 1982 in Sidney Nebraska.  He married Ruby Henkel 17 Aug 1976 in Loveland.

No children except a stepson Robert Spindler of Denver mentioned in his obit.

He is buried in Wray Colorado
