| Chancy Dalrymple was born in 1807 in Uxbridge or Colerain, Massachusetts.
His parents were David Dalrymple and Jennett "Jenny" Clark. |

| David and Jenny Dalrymple's children were: Mark, Elizabeth, David,
Clark, Oliver, Fanny, Anna, and Chancy. David and Jenny Dalrymple moved
to Pittsfield, Warren co, Pa where they died. |
|
| Chancy and his older brother, Oliver, went to Dayton, Montgomery Co,
Ohio where Oliver married Elizabeth Schwartzley 05 May 1825 and Chancy married
Sarah Cartwright 09 Oct 1834. |

| Chancy and Sarah then moved on west with another of Chancy's brothers,
David Dalrymple, to St Joseph County, Indiana. Chancy and Sarah with 2 females
under 5 are on the 1840 census of that place. |
|
| Sarah Courtright Dalrymple died and the children Miriah and John were
sent back to live with Oliver and Elizabeth Dalrymple in Montgomery County,
Ohio. |
|
| Chancy moved on west to Nodaway County, Missouri. The Nodaway County,
Missouri History of 1882 on page 432 refers to Chauncy Dalrymple as
one of the early settlers of the 1840-42 period. |

| In Nodaway County, Missouri 11 May 1845, Chancy married Lydia Heady,
daughter of Thomas Heady and Rebecca Goodwin. |
|
| To Chancy and Lydia were born three children: Thomas, Ezra, and Rebecca.
Rebecca was born 07 Feb 1849 and her mother died 16 Feb 1849. On the 1850
census in Nodaway County, Missouri, Chancy has a third wife named Rebecca,
age 38 born in Tenn. No marriage to Rebecca has been found in Nodaway County. |

| By 1870, Chancy has another wife, Margaret, age 37 born in Missouri.
Chancy Dalrymple married Margaret Graham, 15 Jan 1863 in Andrew Co, Mo. |

Chancy died 10 Mar 1880 in Polk twp, Nodaway County, Missouri and
is buried in the Workman Chapel Cemetery.
His will states that he had 2 children by his first wife - John Dalrymple
of Andrew County, Missouri and Miriah E. Dalrymple last heard of in Ohio.
By his second wife his children were Ezra Dalrymple and Rebecca J.
Bare of Nodaway County, Missouri.
By his third wife, his son William B. Dalrymple of Nodaway County,
Missouri.
His fourth wife survived him. |

| There are many unanswered questions about the life of Chancy Dalrymple.
Where did he get these wives? and where did he bury them? We're still hunting
for descendants of these children and although several of us have found
each other, there must be more. I'll try to get more records and pictures
on of this family in the future. |
